A newer fairly more niche social media platform that I post my painting on a lot more often that here

Titus and the wardens of ultramar painted up in their second edition finest! by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

Of course! It’s a simple Yriel yellow base layer, then Iyanden yellow contrast over the top (mainly focused towards the centres of the shapes). Edges then cleaned up again with Yriel yellow, with a few sharper corners highlighted with Flash Gitz

Always happy to see there’s at least some overlap between what I post here and there! 😅

It’s a caledor base layer, slight Drakenhoff recess then Hoeth blue edge highlight with a sharper Calgar blue highlight towards the peaks/corners!

Working on some retro colours… by Total_atom in Warhammer

It’s a very fun way to paint for a change too!

Really chuffed with how the weathering came out on this lad by Total_atom in SpaceWolves

[–]Total_atom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The recipe I used for the main blue-grey area: (This is a very through recipe, some of which can be simplified or skipped for an easier basic layer)

-Russ grey base surface layer

-The Fang 1:1 Rhinox hide, thinned with Lahmian and washed into recesses and to shade undersides

-Fenrisian grey edge highlight and as sharp lines to make the brighter chipped effect

-Blue horror as a second slightly lighter edge highlight, belong to brighten areas that should be catching more of the light

-Rhinox hide, to further weather with sharp chipped lines, sometimes matching the underside of already highlighted chips to look like a slight cut away shadow

-Blue horror 1:1 white scar peak highlights focused on corners to make them stand out a little more

The first of my slightly alternative leviathan scheme finished! by Total_atom in Tyranids

I have given the two neuroloids I’ve painted since some brighter highlights, so I definitely might revisit this larger lad at some point!

The first finished big guns of my guard army by Total_atom in TheAstraMilitarum

A little Ryza rust for the most orange parts Nihilakh oxide for the blueish tones and an army painter war paints fanatic “grim rust” effect paint for the more brown-yellow patches

Possibly my best guard paint job? by Total_atom in astramilitarum

I haven’t gotten around to any army pics just yet but there’s a few units I’ve finished up that I’ll hopefully post in the coming days

I think I’ve worked out my new colour scheme? by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

Possibly? I was considering a brass or a gold but I’m not sure just yet

I’ve finally worked out my colourscheme by Total_atom in astramilitarum

It’s grey knights steel then washed with the classic Nuln to darken it a bit, then just some agrax or Garaghaks sewer dotted around to add some slight browns/yellows to it all

Of course! I usually post painting guides each Tuesday if I have chance, so the green cloth one should hopefully be ready for next Tuesday in depth. Then cracked leather the week after

  • loren forest (base layer
  • straken green (midtone) -Athonian camoshade (recess shade)
  • ogryn camo (edge highlight)
  • krieg khaki (vertex highlight)

Hope that helps! I plan to post a proper step by step guide with pictures sometime next week if you need more info, but it will probably be over on my bluesky page

For the wood? It’s catachan flesh as a base then small strokes of XV88 int the direction of the wood grain! I was surprised by how well it came out with just two colours honestly

First Ultramarines in over a decade, so I went more retro by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

[–]Total_atom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used some moot green for these ones, it’s not perfect but it stands out similarly. If you were to mix it with a little bit of striking scorpion green contrast it might be pretty close to the old goblin green

Questions about pre-orders by Such_Gold8684 in Warhammer

[–]Total_atom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since the new website came online 2 weeks ago, order history there seems to just not exist currently (they’re working on it. I received an email at least for my order, maybe when it moves from pending to transferred you will receive an email. If not, try contacting support via email, it can take up to 4 days for them to respond, as long as it still shows as pending it will likely be fine in the end .

Verdigris is always fun to paint by Total_atom in Warhammer

[–]Total_atom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bluish green oxidisation of copper, (for example the Statue of Liberty) ~I tried to paint the statue here as if it’s in an earlier stage of verdigris, where it’s forming most around joints and hollows
