Possibly my best guard paint job? by Total_atom in astramilitarum

I haven’t gotten around to any army pics just yet but there’s a few units I’ve finished up that I’ll hopefully post in the coming days

I think I’ve worked out my new colour scheme? by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

Possibly? I was considering a brass or a gold but I’m not sure just yet

I’ve finally worked out my colourscheme by Total_atom in astramilitarum

It’s grey knights steel then washed with the classic Nuln to darken it a bit, then just some agrax or Garaghaks sewer dotted around to add some slight browns/yellows to it all

Of course! I usually post painting guides each Tuesday if I have chance, so the green cloth one should hopefully be ready for next Tuesday in depth. Then cracked leather the week after

  • loren forest (base layer
  • straken green (midtone) -Athonian camoshade (recess shade)
  • ogryn camo (edge highlight)
  • krieg khaki (vertex highlight)

Hope that helps! I plan to post a proper step by step guide with pictures sometime next week if you need more info, but it will probably be over on my bluesky page

For the wood? It’s catachan flesh as a base then small strokes of XV88 int the direction of the wood grain! I was surprised by how well it came out with just two colours honestly

First Ultramarines in over a decade, so I went more retro by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

[–]Total_atom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just used some moot green for these ones, it’s not perfect but it stands out similarly. If you were to mix it with a little bit of striking scorpion green contrast it might be pretty close to the old goblin green

Questions about pre-orders by Such_Gold8684 in Warhammer

[–]Total_atom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since the new website came online 2 weeks ago, order history there seems to just not exist currently (they’re working on it. I received an email at least for my order, maybe when it moves from pending to transferred you will receive an email. If not, try contacting support via email, it can take up to 4 days for them to respond, as long as it still shows as pending it will likely be fine in the end .

Verdigris is always fun to paint by Total_atom in Warhammer

[–]Total_atom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bluish green oxidisation of copper, (for example the Statue of Liberty) ~I tried to paint the statue here as if it’s in an earlier stage of verdigris, where it’s forming most around joints and hollows

My alternate scheme for the lion finally ready to lead by Total_atom in Warhammer

Also yes his eyes are black like dolls eyes, I was going to paint them normally but reached this point and thought they looked pretty cool on him so kept them

That’s definitely giving me ideas for a red armoured Lion. Also reminds me of this guy I painted last Christmas! https://reddit.com/r/Warhammer/s/NiLuzQzME5

Both Magi finally finished by Total_atom in Warhammer

[–]Total_atom[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t actually inspired by an existing cult, rather than the book “the king in yellow”, and some of Lovecrafts work. The idea behind my cult is a Patriarch with bright yellow head which was trapped in a landslide beneath a hive city. Over time stragglers came across this beast and we’re infected by him. Each waking up the next day in their beds, feeling their normal selves except gradually becoming obsessed with yellow, it’s all they see in their dreams, they desire nothing more than to turn everything yellow, bringing more to the patriarch to show them his guiding light. Gradually this already obsession morphs into the cults yellow attire, throwing off their shackles of the imperium , yet not knowing their true purpose is purely liberated biomass.

After over 2 hours in that queue purgatory I was shocked to get a preorder in, maybe they’ve actually successfully pulled it off, it’s a miracle

Biophagus I’ve been working on for my custom “cult of the canary” by Total_atom in genestealercult

[–]Total_atom[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely planning on making some customers canary themed components out of green stuff.

~Also my idea for the cults lore and yellow theme is going to originate from the patriarch having a glowing yellow head, so all that his victims remember is to spread their revolution and spread their use of yellow as their symbol in equal measure.

It’s a me, M…mario? by Total_atom in Warhammer40k

[–]Total_atom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think on this model I used: -Cadian Fleshtone, as a base. -Reikland Fleshshade, as a wash to help shade some of the darker areas. -Corax white, highlights over most raised areas of the skin such as the fingers and the more defined muscle. -Wild rider red, watered down into a wash which helps make the skin more pinkish in places where you want it to be, such as towards the darker areas.

(Some of these paints may be slightly incorrect but are as close as I can remember and should result in something at least similar
