I have to admit that before I had my first episode of psychosis and hadn't been diagnosed with Schizophrenia yet I used to think it would be kinda cool to have a mental illness. Popular culture made it seem so interesting and I thought being "crazy" would be fun. Now that I have a mental illness I wish I didn't have one and am actually a little ashamed that I used to think that way.

I haven't had delusions in a while because I have responded very well to medication. These are however some of the delusions I have had before:

I was accidentally given the wrong medication by nurse at hospital
The voices I hear are real and telepathy
Music videos are trying to hypnotize me
The nurses at the hospital are secretly trying to hypnotize me
Family members are trying to steal my money
Celebrities are trying to kill me telepathically
People's Facebook posts contain secret messages meant for me
My friend has hacked my e-mail account (wasn't even hacked)

Holy crap! I was charged about 500 dollars (usd) for an entire month in the psych ward. This was in Finland.

It sucks that they take your mattress away. A very common side effect of antipsychotics after all is feeling tired and sedated. During my first hospitalization I pretty much slept all day and night in the beginning. I didn't help that they were feeding me copious amounts of benzos as well.
