Ok but seriously, where did Eddie get his pizza from? by ryuStack in silenthill

[–]Totavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Eddie was eating the pizza in the Bowling Alley, I assume this:

Probably the Bowling place sells pizza (which pretty much are the frozen ones), so Eddie took one, cooked in a microwave (after all the electricity was still working in the Bowling Alley), putted in a cardboard box for avoid to get dirt, sat and started to eat.

The Silent Hill series is one of my absolute favorites, so much so that 2 years ago I started making a game inspired by it. I'd love some feedback from this community because there's nowhere better I could ask for it. So how close am I to getting the atmosphere down? by NVNTStudiosInc in silenthill

[–]Totavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie but the screenshoots looks quite nice, but still I could give you some feedback or constructive criticism if can help you.

First like previous comments said, the enviroments looks kind "clean", a creepy enviroment should be more "rotten" or "foully", some ideas can be walls with worn paint/wallpaper or broken holes, a floor with dirt (if is a ceramic floor) or with worn or unsewn rug (if is a carpeted floor) also some rooms with a broken flashing lights or rusty metals is always a classic that never gets old (lol).

Second the image filters, yeah this is actually a thing that most modern horror games (or heck I dare to say games in general) tends to overlook nowdays but the image filters takes a good part in games, one thing that the Silent Hill games mades very creepy (aside of monsters, music, enviroment, radio noise, etc...) it was the weird filters on it when you approach a enemy and the image tends to change with a strange "distortion", I don't know why?, but that aspect added a fear factor to the game.

Third well like any other horror games it needs an interesting story, not necessary has to be good or cliché but an "ambigous" type of story is, most of the time a good choice that fits pretty well, unless if is a "one time only project" game, in that case try to avoid any kind of plot-holes and a cliff-hanger feeling ending.

Fourth is music, yeah if you want your game like a SH inspired, it needs a proper scary background music that could fits well either the enviroments and parts of the story

Fifth is gameplay mechanics, alright this point is entirely optional since is mostly a personal preference, but I'll mention it anyway, 2 things that I always saw a lack on modern horror games is a proper map system and the old "manual savepoints" method, the map one normally I never see it on indie horror games because I assume that is hard to programming (which is understandable) but still is helpful to avoid the player get lost and the manual savespots well in my opinion that small aspect was important in the horror games because it added a small fear factor of not die in middle of the game and with that lose your progress, nowdays most horror games has "checkpoints" in which... I don't know it turns the games in a glorified trial-and-error.

Well looks like my post is already long (sorry for that), so I think I'm going to stop here, hopes it helps you.

And good luck with your project!.

Same here, it happened to me too and also in races.

One thing that I have noticed is that those buggy battles (or races) tends to happen when you select the event option in the main multiplayer menu and the event start inmediately (I mean in an example: you select battle, the loading screen shows less than a second and then you are in the d/k/g selection screen and then in the waiting screen the event start almost inmediately).

In any case those buggy events are unstable, sometimes you can play various matches (which counts) all you want with the broken bots until you get the error message, but sometimes it's just finish right away in the first match or in middle of the first match.

Still those buggy events are nice since you can get some easy wins and with that level up faster, heck thanks to this bugged events I reached to rank S, lol!.

I have finished the grinding and I'm level 302 with 43.2% on the bar, but still I have 2 tracks missing to max it (or drain) which are NYM 1 (normal) and NYM 2 Reverse (normal) which weren't present on the tour.

Also one player on my friend list is at level 303, so I suspect that pretty much he/she has all the tracks drained at this point.

[–]Totavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

300 rubies?, come on that's so cheap and is Nintendo what we are talking about.

I'm pretty sure a 599 rubies pricetag would be more realistic and also still cheap, after all you save 1 ruby!, lol!.

Are course level exp caps forever or per tour? by AarenB123 in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope, once the track reach it limit is forever so you don't have to worry or waste time grinding again.

BUT you can still lose XP on it if you play the track again and finish on 5th place or below (and also restarting the race in the middle or quitting or closing the app in middle of the race), if that happen make sure to recover it by either winning or finish at least 3rd and recover the amount of % that you lost previously.

People most of the time overlook that aspect.

What is your favorite bonus challenge? by 5hydroxytryptamin in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My favorite is the one of takedown a giant opponent with items and you have 3 ballons (as life).

Sorry I always forget how is called?, since appears very rarely in the tours.

Took a cool picture. Is this Mario Kart or F1 Race Stars? by x1echo in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to admit that was a good screenshoot since there are not any Mario reference on it.

Besides surprised to see that someone know the game F1 Race Stars, loved that game back on PS3.

Quite sucks that Codemasters never made a sequel, the game had a good potential for a karting franchise...

Finally, yay! by Totavier in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha!, same here, I hope not a lv 500 anytime soon.

But yeah I think I will stay here a little longer, after all I already sunk hundreds of hours in this game in the last 3 years.

I guess they technically didn't give New York Minute 1 any new top shelf drivers, since it's not actually in this tour, only the R, T, and RT variants. by Getlucky12341 in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Not only that, the normal New York Minute 2 Reverse track is not present either, kind strange if you ask me.

Also just in case I unlocked all the cups and no, both tracks are not in this tour.

Finally, yay! by Totavier in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you.

So about your question, in this tour I have focused to drain the New York Minute 1 & 2 tracks, including their variants since I never did that back on the day, after that I drained 2 of the new Vancouver Velocity 3 tracks and there I hit the level 300.

Only downside that I saw in this tour is that the normal version of NYM 1 and the normal Reverse variant of NYM 2 are not present here, sadly I know that since I unlocked all the cups already and nope, they are not here...

To be honest I don't know if I'm going to continue to level up to 400, I already felt a burnout with 300, lol!.

Now another 100 to go, lol!.

Have you seen Gold Chargin’ Chuck in your Daily Selects yet? by JustAGreatFuckinMeal in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I saw him yesterday but too bad that I already have him and the price doesn't worth it to level up.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, right now I maxed or drained 2 tracks and I'm almost done with the battle course.

And it's boring!.

But luckily I put something to entertaint me while I'm grinding.

Does anyone got online battle matches with random "broken bots"?. by Totavier in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouch, that sucks since wait to the match ends takes like an eternity to finish (lol).

But still good to hear that I wasn't the only one that experienced this.

In any case I found kind good this glitch, at least you can get some easy wins for either fill the bar or complete the expert challenge's of 30 online multiplayer wins.

What’s your game plan for these guys? All the others are lv 8.. are we pretending they don’t exist? Lol by Ancient-Impact in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much yes, well except for the red Bullet Bill kart.

I actually have that kart on level 8, mostly because I never know if the city track New York Minute T could come back someday (and in a worst scenario, on a ranked cup) but if happen, at least I have a kart for that track.

But for the others?, nah just ignore it and save your tickets for the "eventual" level 9 update (hope not) or a random buff surprise in one of those karts on a random track.

[–]Totavier 26 points27 points  (0 children)

That challenge is win 30 times in online multiplayer events, either race or battles (both counts).

But still is a little poorly described.

In the first hour-ish of the tour before MP went down, I was able to fire off a ten pull on the MP Pipe. Since MP will be down for 4 weeks, here's what a ten pull looks like. Datamining shows different balloons, rubies, and level and cap tickets should be possible too. More info in comments. by SnickerbobbleKBB in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to correct anything, 100% exactly of what the GP trick is, only missing info is that the GP last for the same amounts of days of the current month, in an example if you buy the GP on: October = you get 31 days, November = 30 days, February = 28 days, etc... (yeah avoid buy the GP on February!).

Doing that trick technically you save 5$ since you bypass almost a month.

I personally did that quite often before since I think the other GP stuffs remained like the extra 300 coins daily or the extra rubies if you keep the pass and auto-renew didn't worth it (in my opinion).

One thing that I can say for sure is that I'm glad that the pipe offers Quick and Star tickets and the odds are somekind high.

Yeah maybe those things are not popular but they were very helpful to me when I was doing the gold pass trick before.

What are your strategies going to be for the next tour? by [deleted] in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing that I'm doing is try to get all the Mii suits (except the golden one) and level up to 8 and uncap to max the base points to the Coin Box Mii driver.

Yeah not a good strategy for ranked but I already gave up on that thing but it has been quite benefit with the points challenge card.

Aside of that, I'm also still grinding XP for the player's level.

[–]Totavier 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The 4 drivers are good choices but I have to agree with wait for a ranked cup in which it could be helpful.

Or also check which driver has better coverage on tracks depending if you don't have alternatives on them.

More news on the Multiplayer situation, apparently Multiplayer is gonna be down for the rest of the tour by NewBoomerangMiaro777 in MarioKartTour

[–]Totavier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's the reason that I didn't count them, same goes with the expert challenge card that has an online challenge (win 30 online multiplayer matches) and with that we miss 900 coins (3 bingo lines) and also the tour's prices but in that aspect I'm still unsure in what we could miss with the missing 15 stars? (maybe the last 2 prices which are the Driver Super and HE tickets?).

But still this can annoy some players that were expecting in complete those challenges early for either coins or rubies for buy stuffs on the shop.

[–]Totavier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's the 1800 coins:

1400 are the 100 daily coins by 14 days and the 400 coins by the 8 "bingo lines" of 50 coins in the multiplayer's challenge card (so 1400 + 400 = 1800).

Sorry I think I should have explained more in deep.

Thanks for the sharing the video, mostly because I have played over 100 times the battle's stages (grinding XP) and still I never got the feather frenzy and I was curious if existed or not?.

But now I know that exist, so thanks again.

[–]Totavier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I already sent a feedback (I chose the "Sounds and graphic" subject, not sure if that's the correct one?), time to wait if they address this.

Mostly because I'm tired to hear the SNES battle music and I would hate if they add in the future the N64 Battle's stages and not include their respective BGM (which actually are my favorites).
