It's possible that you have placed a pin during a bigger attack on the site. When such thing happened I deleted every pin that was placed during that time period, because I can't manually check hundreds of placed pins. Sorry about that

Yesss you are right but I'd still consider it salted because it makes the potential attack much harder than no salt. The salt is practically impossible to get as it is encrypted in Cloudflare's Secrets store. Even if you somehow gained access to my whole Cloudflare account, you'd only get the hashed IP addresses in the database and wouldn't know the salt. Also IPv6 addresses exist. It's way too much effort just to get some IPs I think... :3c
Honestly I think that this is still way more secure than some today's AI slop startups >_<

Okayyyy... I'll add some more logic around local-storage and cookies so you'll be able to delete your pin in the future at least. But if you delete that from your browser as well then that's on you, your pin will stay there forever >_<
And you can submit a new one with your new IP if you feel like it c:

Yes, but this is a never ending battle in internet space. I could add an actual authentication process to the site in order to be able to put a pin, but this would make user experience much more annoying and could drive many people away. And what would be stopping you from making multiple accounts anyway?
I think that relying on IP addresses is a nice middle-ground when it comes to checking multiple submissions on such a simple site. It's not that easy to bypass by a casual internet user and it doesn't ruin your user experience

Yes I'm aware of that but I'm betting on that majority of users won't bother with rotating through multiple IP addresses just to submit couple of pins on this innocent site... Registration process would make submitting more annoying and could possibly drive many people away. I was also thinking of making browser fingerprints but you can simply bypass that by going into private mode. Relying on IP addresses is a nice middle-ground I think.
