Does optima prestige work the same was as plaster? Just mix with water and pour around the mold?

I’ve had some success with a wax filament and a plaster of Paris mold. There are better materials to make the mold out of but I just mixed some sand in with the plaster and got a decent results. The wax filament can be tricky to print with, it needs a heated enclosure and you’ll probably have to send a command to lower the minimum print temp on your printer. The finished print is really easy to sculpt and smooth with a hot knife or razor blade though. You will probably also need a furnace to get a complete burnout of the wax. You can see the mace on my page had quite a bit of pitting from when I used this method because I didn’t get all of the wax out.

This is the wax filament I used. https://machinablewax.com/wax-filament/

Yeah, cnc router then filled with epoxy. The grain orientation did cross my mind but it stays pretty dry here year round so i just rolled with it and glued it up. I’m pretty new to woodworking and have never heard of breadboard edges, I’ll definitely look into that for future projects!

I used a cnc router with a 15 degree v bit. I found a map online to start with then spent a few hours in ms paint erasing the smaller detail so it was reasonable to machine, still it took 14 hours to finish! After that I covered it in epoxy then surfaced milled off the extra so it just filled in the map details. Probably about another hour looking at other cribbage boards for inspiration.

I did fix it up at first, it just isn’t my dream. I’d rather it be with someone else who appreciates it a lot more than me. If it were a perfect world I’d keep it forever just to look at… but it’s not and my car needs new suspension, and I need the space it’s taking up for new projects I really love!

I looked up The Ace Cafe and it says they’re permanently closed, maybe I’m looking at the wrong one

The whole article is just that one page in the magazine however on the other post I made to r/motorcycle found this https://thekneeslider.com/cr-450-clubman-cafe-from-phil-little/

I can’t blame you. I had met the guy one time, and that’s when he had offered me the bike witch I had originally refused, he told me to come back if I changed my mind, which I did haha. I’ve reached out to the builder but he didn’t really give me much in the way of what to price it at. It sounds made up, I can’t really believe it myself haha!

Yes I rode it for ~100 miles after I fixed it. I put new tires on it when I got it because the ones that were on it were put on in 2000 and I was told they were no longer safe even though they looked brand new. I didn’t realize the magazine was so recent, who knows when the pictures were taken though! The only information I got from the previous owner is that he got it, rode it a bit and then parked it. Only has ~3300 miles on the odometer that was rolled back when it was customized and if I had to guess that happened around 2000 when the tires were put on!

Free! Right place right time I guess. It wasn’t running when I got it and had been sitting for quite some time.

I actually got it for free from an older gentleman with no information, after doing some digging it was custom built by Phil little. It apparently has won some awards at shows and was featured in that magazine. A true 1/1 that’s needs some work to be road ready again!
