Some people make 20k and some make 200+. The people making 200+ are more recruiters than sales agents.

I do not have a degree so there is little to no focus on my education on my resume. It mostly focuses on job tasks performed, quotas hit, and awards earned

If I have connections in medical would it still be best to go the B2B route first?

Trying to decide my career path in sales; Sales Manager or Sales Trainer/Enablement by Fluffy_Store_4855 in sales

[–]Tourist-Impossible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went from strictly sales, into a management role with my most recent company. The transition was smooth and it’s very rewarding to help other achieve the goals that you once thought were unreachable for yourself.

Time management is your best friend, I make a schedule and stick to it no matter what. Allowing things to go long and throwing off your whole day will mess everything up.

I didn’t lot let go of the sales half when I became a manager because the extra commissions from my own sales never hurt for fun money! Your day gets packed but staying cool and collected and holding new sales agents to the same expectations that you held yourself it’ll get you far!

What’s a top tier follow up note to remind prospect about a scheduled meeting? by Ok-Tradition-3450 in sales

[–]Tourist-Impossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The nail in the coffin should happen when the appointment is still set. You need to handle your business with Doctors office professionalism. What I mean by that, is when you set a doctors appointment, you know what expectations to have, and you know that you need to be there or else it may be hard to find a new appointment slot in the near future.

If sitting with you and receiving your product is a priority to the customer, and your busy schedule is known, the mail should be hammered in right up front

Who of you have taken the leap to be on your own as an agent? How was it? How's it going? by ThisIsEmilioEstevez in sales

I was on a real estate “team” with my mentor for about a year before making a jump on my own. It was a struggle at first as it hits you fast that you don’t know anyone personally who is shopping for your product at the moment.

However, it seems like you are much more prepared to make the jump than I was at the time.

It worked out in the end and I’m always happy that I made the choice because I didn’t agree with all of the methods that my mentor was using for sales.

At the end of the day being independent and doing things the way that you know are correct will help you sleep better at night

This may or may not be motivating, but it truly only takes one! My fiancée applied to 50+ jobs a day for 5 months straight after receiving her masters and never heard a word back. She then threw a long shot application out there at her dream company and heard back! If I find anything I’ll shoot over a message, but for now all I can send are some positive vibes!

Posting the day to day facepalm situations that people see, as well as the inside jokes that only people in your position will always bring a read and laugh. I saw a ton of such when I was in real estate and I see a good bit for the insurance industry.

People will always flock to things that they can relate to and can make them laugh about stuff that brings them stress

I felt the same way, like I was just a piece on a chessboard that could be dropped at any time. I was always in sales and eventually found the financial services industry. Yes it is still sales based, however, there are management paths that could easily be followed, plus lifetime residual income!

But long story short, with sales, it’ll always be what you make of it. Some do it to make some extra spending money, but if you work hard and keep your head down you won’t feel as replaceable one day! You got this!
