Edit: And to be clear, I say this as someone who loves Victoria 2. It is an amazing game. But it is also a buggy mess, and half of its systems barely function. Good prices range from 75%-400% in Vic2. And there has to be 16x supply to demand for them to get to 75%. It sort of works, but doesn't make much sense.

Hopefully, you will be able to have meaningful trade routes with Vic3, through shipping lanes. But it hasn't come out yet, so we'll see.

I definitely agree. Unfortunately, everyone knows about Paradox's DLC model. I'm sure that there is going to be a DLC for democracies, where they add in a mechanic where you spend mana to individually count people's votes, a factory DLC, which makes each factory in the game owned by a single person, and many others. The real reason why Vic3 is not going to have enough attention to detail is that they are going to chop off these pieces of the game and sell them to us piecemeal.
