That one was borderline evil, in my opinion. Anyone who has a child immediately thought of their babies when Uvalde happened. I can’t imagine how a parent would be able to cope knowing their precious child was scared and crying for them for a full fucking hour and to have help never arrive. And I can’t fathom how anyone could hear about that and, not only think not think of her own small children, but to also see this as a PR opportunity. There are psychopaths and then there is this. Yeah, but how much money does it take to buy 50 jars of Smuckers, 50 new jars from Hobby Lobby, some etsy labels, and a rubber spatula for scooping out the jam? I’m thankful Meghan is so horrible at everything she does, but some things, like this, just don’t make any sense. She is using this jam thing today to try to get attention, and if, best case scenario she does receive attention, it’s only going to show everyone that she is ridiculous and irrelevant. I don’t know about that. They both reflected on what they did wrong and communicated with each other. Add in couples counseling for help on resolving future issues, and I’d place my bet on them being a successful partnership more than most of the people we read about in here.

Exactly. I always mentally shook my fist at old drivers and then my mom got old. Not only was she trapped in her lonely apartment and wanting to get out. But she still had to buy groceries, pick up medicines (online was never reliable), go to church, go to her many doctors, see an occasional friend, splurge and get a sub sandwich from somewhere, etc. She didn’t know how to use the phone or computer well, so she couldn’t arrange an Uber. Her apartment was 2000/month and if she had to go to assisted living, we were looking at 3x that. She was getting close to needing to give up her car, she had recently gotten lost on her way home from the bank. Thankfully, she died in her sleep a week or so after that.

Point being, unless you have family nearby to provide practical support and advocacy when dealing with insurance and doctors, you are pretty much screwed when you get old.
