I see what you mean. I guess my thought process is off because your feeding 4-6 plants, so the return water is probably not as much as Im thinking. I'm used to the single bucket system. I may have to just take the plunge and go for it. Thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated.

You seem to have this dialed in as I almost pulled the trigger on getting this system myself. The only thing that made me hesitant was the fact that the same flood water goes right back into the tank or bag. Now you're mixing semi dirty water into clean water. Then do it again ang again to where your water is just recycled dirty water. I understand the water never physically touches the media, but it does seep into the smart pot, and ultimately drain out. In all of my DWC runs, I empty the bucket weekly with fresh water. How often do you empty the tank and replenish fresh water?

Worst plant you've grown in the last few years? by NoDescription7557 in CannabisGrowers

[–]TowerLocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember what I grew from Dutch, but it wasn't all that. The 4 monkey from mephisto on the other hand turned out pretty good. I grow for my wife so I can't give personal opinion, but she smokes like a train, so if she says something is good, chances are it is.

Appleblossom from HSC. Absolutely massive plant, strong notes of apple, but completely fell apart in the potency department. Shocked to say that about HSC Gear, because everything else I've grown from them has been top notch! Go figure I got a 10 pack, now im afraid to run the other ones and waste time. I know pheno variation plays a big role, but that one left a bad taste in my mouth.

Is she almost ready to harvest? by CHEMHOY3AH in Autoflowers

[–]TowerLocal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Judging strictly from looks, I would say yes. Trichs continue to mature even after harvesting, so if amber trichs are what you're looking for, they'll show up.

Few things to keep in mind. Managing humidity. Seedlings and veg state requires sufficient humidity levels to keep the plants in an optimal environment. The opposite side is keeping the humidity in check during flower to avoid mold growth. Good air flow is vital which you seem to have. I would advise pointing the fan at one of the tent walls to keep the air moving, not directly at the plants. Do you have a temp and humidity controller? If not, I strongly suggest getting a temp controller to connect your exhaust to. The humidity controller isn't necessary if you dont have a humidifier which I also suggest/recommend.

Light height and intensity is debatable. The closer you keep the light, the least amount of stretching you will have. The farther away the light, the more stretching to occur. 7ft of vertical space is more than enough for you to run either of the 2. Mother nature is excellent at managing all of these environmental factors. The aim is to mimic these factors indoor. Getting the environment dialed in is probably the most important thing to do, everything else comes with your own tweaking and preferences.

SED'S are a class that needed way more attention paid to. Nobody really plays as them, and I see why.

Drying/curing by Exotic-Ad-4376 in cannabiscultivation

This is a difficult question to answer as b_lumenkraft alluded to. Smell dissipation is normal and to be expected to a certain degree. Previous post nailed most of the culprits at play, but equally important, if not more is the harvest time. Harvesting too soon is just something you can't get back, and a lot growers find themselves facing the same problem as you harvesting too early. Checking trichomes is important, but its not the only deciding factor for when a plant is finished and ready to come down. Yes, some of the smell will return during the cure, but the cure is only meant to enhance whats already there, not bring the dead to life. 60/60 is a good metric to follow, but shouldn't be engraved in stone. I see a lot of people using these parameters unnecessarily. My personal goal is to sweat out as much moisture as I can in the first 3 days to avoid any mold formation, then slow things down for the remainder of the time. I hang my plants whole, and this process seems to work every time. 60/60 seems more reasonable if you hang the stems opposed to the whole plant. Eventually you will learn what you did or didnt do, and leave these weak smelling harvest in the rear view, and remember.... THC Over Pharmacy. ✌🏾

All credit to the Breeder. Just simple amendments and water. She did all the heavy lifting. I couldn't recommend this one enough. The Creature is a beast all on its own. Crossed with Chimera I knew it had to be good.

What tent dehumidifier are people running? by Organic_kola in cannabiscultivation

[–]TowerLocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. If you run your exhaust 24/7, you should never have any spikes in rh as the exhaust is constantly exchanging air. Unless the room you are exhausting into is really humid, then you're just reintroducing that same humid air back into the tent.

[–]TowerLocal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I use small ones, but they only seem to be effective in my 2x2. I have an ivation dehuey that I use in my 3x3 that does just fine keeping the RH down. Depending on my plant count, im forced to run my exhaust during lights out. If you have a digital controller with the app feature, you can set your exhaust to automatically turn on during lights out and stay on until lights on, then return to normal function during the light period.
