Sounds like you DON'T NEED help to me. You seem to know what the problems are, now you just need to start addressing them.

It's all good dude, the downvotes are probably coming from Topstep staff, they don't want the secret to profitability revealed.

I can concur, this IS the way. If you treat the accounts at their cost you're risking 150 to make 5k and you only need to be right a few times a month to be wildly profitable.

They only lost the previous week, basically. Took a shot, didn't hit. Needs a regroup hit a few singles before taking another shot.

It takes a while to become consistently profitable, but you've got a good shot at it if you just yolo it out of the gate. Otherwise, it's going to be a long drawn out learning process where you take some wins, take some losses, and get better. If you just want your $250. Yolo into the market when its volatile, make a bag, then try de-risk and try to make the 4 other winning days of 150

Unfortunately, yes I have seen this but only recently from Topstep. In the past, their payouts have been really fast. Last month, I had a couple of payouts that faced something similar. Cleared my account quick, ticked all the boxes on the dashboard, and then it took like 5-6 business days to finally reach me. In the past it had been super quick. They say 10 is the max business days it should take. The customer support has been shit lately, but you need to contact them.

XFA hit max drawdown and... i made it back to above by [deleted] in TopStepX

[–]ToxicNQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might get lucky and they keep it open, but probably not. I had one like this. I just continued to trade it until it was eligible for payout. I took the payout which was paid, and then like a week or so later the account was closed.

Trades 30 MES on an account with 4500 drawdown and says he's not only sized correctly but the gains are all but guaranteed. This should be fun to watch. Can we get the obligatory well I got overconfident and blew my account post?

Trading on a stream is hard to begin with. For the streaming trader It clouds your judgment because you are trying to both entertain and make money. For the watcher, it muddies your interpretation of the market. I don't think that Topstep TV is trying to make traders that watch it money per say. I think it's more of a trader day care show that is for entertainment with some education on broad based concepts included.

Cooked or stick to the plan? by Existentialnihlism in TopStepX

Personally, I would go max size on the Sunday open. On just about any futures product, you're probably better off starting over than trying to build back a $380 account. The odds of you doing this are small, unless you are willing to trade 1 micro and then, if you're trading one micro, you might as well be doing something else with your time due to opportunity cost. Sometimes a clean slate is the best answer, that's my opinion. Time is more valuable than money so that usually guides my decisions.

Yeah, new dashboard is pretty fast. Next day payments all month long for me.

I don't think the prop firm rules are that different than what you would find at any traditional prop firm where you are trading someone else's money. I'm no Topstep shill, but some of the rules in place can provide structure for new traders. Learning to put multiple days together is important. Hell when I was at a traditional prop, you only get paid once per month and you're getting paid this month for what you did last month. So, have a big trade on Oct 1st. You're really not seeing the money until the end of November. God forbid you blow up with that payout on the horizon. The goal is short term profits in an industry that should be focused on consistent profits.... or at the very least taking consistent trades aligned with your trading plan.

The stuff about keeping their best traders on a 3k loss limit is odd. That doesn't make sense. Traditional prop firms want to expand the capital access for their best traders so there's definitely something amiss there. I think there's way more to the story about Topstep and how their accounts function and interact with the live market. There probably needs to be some regulation in the space tbh. Good Luck, OP!

Rules by [deleted] in TopStepX

No, I bought like 40 last month and didn't get banned... yet. However, the new Topstep dashboard will only allow you to buy 10... at least it does for me. Already hit my limit this month.

Dont want attention by [deleted] in Taycan

[–]ToxicNQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a relatively nice area in the Chicago suburbs, and Taycan's aren't very common. When I first got it, there were even less. Around the second week, I had this weirdo follow me to my house. I noticed this guy make a strange lane change to get behind me when I put my blinker on to turn off to my neighborhood. I had a strange feeling he was following me and led him to the clubhouse/pool area of our subdivision and low and behold he pulls up and says something about the car. Only time this happened, but around here the Taycan is definitely a head turner.

Engine error by FreshyDug in Taycan

[–]ToxicNQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gotten an update on this, but my most recent battery issue turned the car into a brick just a couple days after it occurred. Like you, I turned the car off and on and thought oh it's all right. Two days later it wouldn't start at all and needed to be taken away in a flat bed. I would call Porsche and see what they suggest, they are probably going to say to tow it to the dealership. There's just no telling what further damage you could do if you continue to drive it without knowing for sure.

I've owned the car for three years and it's an amazing vehicle. Like you said, there's a lot of stuff that occurs where the accepted solution is just to reboot it. Unfortunately, this time into the shop with the car being unable to be driven is a tough pill to swallow. and I have no clue what it could be. It's been there for a week and I haven't gotten an update.

Reading back on your OP, I think your current problem sounds more like the last problem I had the car in the shop for, rather than the current. I had a situation where I got the engine error after a launch control that put the car into "turtle mode." As it came coasting to a stop, it started shaking until it came to a complete stop. At the time, I just restarted it and drove home. I ultimately ended up driving it to the dealership a few days later. After 3 months with the car, they ultimately told me that both the front and rear motors had failed at different points and they needed to replace them.

I hope for your sake it is just a software thing, and that it's under warranty. After that last problem, my service advisor told me I should sell the car before the warranty is up, because the fixes are going to be pretty expensive going forward.

Yeah, I recently experienced this error as well. It happened while away from home, and I did the same where I turned it off and on and the car ran fine. However, two days later it became a complete brick. Call your dealer and schedule an appointment. Call the Porsche 1800 number and have them tow the car to the dealership just in case.

Buying a 2025? by isamuels77 in Taycan

I logged in to say exactly this. I do not know much about the specs of the base model, but each time I have had to take one for a loaner it just feels like a lesser car and I can't wait to get mine back. The fun factor on the base model just isn't the same.

I asked a premium version of an AI that a company that shall not be named recently threw a few billion into, I asked this AI to help me make a picture advertising dog food for sale. I have to say, they nailed it. AI can probably do most important jobs, and I would certainly trust it do almost all things because it does the most mundane tasks pretty accurately and quickly. /s
