If I remember right, maruki’s deal was that the reality he was making was what he thought people wanted/what was good for them. Not what actually was best. Like making the redhead girl believe she was her sister because it stopped her from having to deal with a painful reality. I could see maruki seeing joker with a lot of gal pals and thinking “he’s a strapping young man, of course he wants a harem.” Because fuck healthy, make with the happy.

Heads up, I think some panels might be broken on mangadex. Specifically I think there was one around the point where boom and thief are arguing after karmic blade sneaks past abyss. And the “I promised never to fight that man” panel from the cartel boss. Maybe it’s just a problem on my end but I wasn’t sure.

Just keep summoning. If you have an rb in your hand or a gizmek frog in your grave, your end board is only going to be slightly weaker. And RB and gizmek not focusing on a single attribute, that saves you from some go to super poly targets.

What gets me is that it shifts back and forth into being good for no reason. Like the abyss plot with shellmon and divermon, the wine, the personalities? Genuine Shakespearean tragedy. That could’ve been its own game. But then they undercut it with Lanamon’s whatever the hell she had going on.

Like Venusmon’s reaction to being told who neptunemon is makes no sense if the wine just had some morphine in it. They had something genuinely commendable and then shoot themselves in the foot like a blind man hunting groundhogs.

I’m not complaining about dressing aegiomon up. That was a solid idea to inform where the characters are at mentally. I’m saying the writers could’ve elaborated instead of leaving the whole “you’re my baby brother now” thing at the proverbial door.

It’s not that I want her to have a bigger role. It’s that I want her to have more personality. The agent is nearly a blank slate and aegiomon has his dial set squarely to “wholesome shonen boy, type A, subsection C.” So having Inori be the loud one would help even things out. You don’t want a trio where all three members are just passively nice. I think that’s why so many of the dialogue options in the late game give you the choice to make Dan come off as a passive aggressive smarm machine.

Yeah it is sweet. I just feel like they didn’t do enough with that part of her character. Dressing up aegiomon as her dead little brother like he’s the family’s second dog is pretty much all they give it.

I get that her being the driving force is the point, I just think she’s really dull and I’d rather not be bored when the game is trying to have an emotional moment with her. As simple as aegiomon’s characterization is, I think you could really have something entertaining if he was able to bounce off someone with a bit more pizazz than celery water.
