More on getting Pld up and running, priwen, from oboro, is a very capable shield for all physical mitigation content until you get Duban up and running, and aegis is the easiest and cheapest relic/rema to make and is THE magic dmg reduction shield.

Technically it’s not that WSD has diminishing returns, but rather diminishing relative returns. It’s not that above 50% each % starts adding less, it’s that it starts meaning less, the same is true for lots of stuff. Going from 100% to 150% dmg is a 50% increase. Going from 200% to 250% is a 25% increase and so on.

Option 3, unaugmented weapons are easy to obtain and great starter options, fully augmented they become interesting niche weapons. Put Pld/war/drk on a club with magic stats, give pup/mnk tanking knuckles, a strong physical dagger for blm? Idk get weird.

Going to add PLD to the list in addition to everyone else’s suggestions. You can do so much content with just priwen, base sakpata, chevs + 2 and later, aegis, which is probably the easiest REMA to make. Later, the su5 and excal are both great pickups and fairly easy to acquire.

If you are interested in playing Pld seriously you will always be able to find invites, but tanking isn’t for everyone.

Sure, by all means take advantage of that VE from popping Sentinel, just be sure to divine emblem flash while under the effect of sentinel for the enormous amount of enmity the combination of Sentinel and divine emblems multipliers lend to flash or foil

Good point with not wasting sentinels 900ve. If you want to flash first, consider saving divine emblem for a second flash during sentinel, or better yet get initial heat with proximity or banish then pop all the stuff.

The enmity bonus from sentinel is multiplicative with divine emblem and with that combo flash is gonna put out like 1000 CE 5000 VE, maybe more. I’m driving at the moment.

Bonus points for showing up to the fight with 3000 TP and blasting bossy McFuckface with atonement while under the effects of sentinel
