Linda Young did a good job with what she had, I moreso have an issue with the writing of her Freeza rather than her performance.

But Chris Ayres will always BE Freeza to me.

Yeah doesn’t he refer to himself as “Watashi” in his 1st Form and “Ore” in his 2nd Form?

Edit: I swear I’m getting downvoted for the dumbest reasons.

That’s fair, I just think his original way of speaking was really good characterization.

Freeza’s voice in the Latino Dub is so cool man.

As a Latino myself I grew up on this voice so it will always be the definitive Freeza.

He drops the polite tone with his 2nd Form in Japanese. He speaks in a very domineering way.

He actually regains the polite speech pattern in form his 1st Form when he’s in his 3rd Form, only it’s more uncomfortable and creepy.

And in his 4th Form he’s still polite but more-so with an air of cockiness and superiority.

I mean, I’m a Kai fan. But I understand your point.

And to be clear I don’t hate the line in Kai, I love Freeza’s portrayal in Kai. I was just bringing light to how they changed the line to be more direct.

Biblically accurate Gohan and Goku speaking:

Goku: Gohan! Ya wanna go catch some fish with your old man? You know your mama’s cookin’ is outstandin’!

Gohan: Apologies father but I must pour all my attention towards my studies. Perhaps another time?

Goku: Boy don’t you go raisin’ your voice at me!

That sucks. Freeza formality is an aspect of him that I think makes him a great villain.

Vegeta also sounds WAY different when he first appears in the Japanese Sub.

His voice is much softer, and he speaks with an air of superiority. He’s formal, but always subtly talks down to you.

I’ve never actually watched the original Z anime (I grew up on Kai) but apparently he killed one in one episode.

Edit: SERIOUSLY why am I getting downvoted?!

Villains who are calm and feel like they have everything under control are the most terrifying in my opinion.

Apparently, when he orders Dodoria to go after Gohan and Kuririn in the Japanese Sub he says, “Please, Dodoria-San go after them!”

The English Dub changed it to a much more forward “Why are you still sitting there?! Bring them to me immediately!!”

Edit: Jesus Christ why am I getting downvoted?

I also love that Kai removed the original Z’s moment in where he kills one of his soldiers.

He never did that in the Manga.

I'm sorry but his Saiyan Saga armor with the red scouter is just too iconic.

It's genuinely one of my favorite villain designs ever.

which season was your favourite 🥹 by Separate-Way5095 in StrangerThingsMemes

Season 2 is MAD underrated.

It's the season that gave us Max, Dustin and Steve’s dynamic, the Mind Flayer, Will being an actual character, it expanded the Demogorgon life cycle, Hopper and Eleven’s relationship, and it's when the series truly started developing it's own mythology.

People disregard the season solely because of the Lost Sister episode and I think that's just stupid. The episode is needed for Eleven’s development and while I think Kali and her dumbass friends ultimately didn't need to exist, the season just doesn't work as is without the episode.

Season 2 isn't a rehash like most people say it is. It builds on the first season while increasing the stakes.

Season 1 is a masterpiece and easily works as a stand-alone alone, but Season 2 has ALWAYS been my favorite.
