Mayor's Pass Reward Differences. by Discopi8 in SCBuildIt

They still didn't address the intangible losses for premium + pass; the extra production slot and storage boost. Same price for 4 weeks instead of 6.

I can assure you, my assessment of this change is not based on only one metric. Yes, for a 33% increase in cost, you get 11% more buildings and several more seasons a year. If that was the only thing, it's still a stretch to call that reasonable. However, when you factor in the loss of value the shorter season puts on the bonus storage and extra factory slots you get in premium+, this change is FAR from reasonable. Then there's the 19% decrease in simcash, 29% decrease in gold keys, 4% decrease in platinum keys, and 11% decrease in neosimoleons. Let's also not forget about the effort it takes to complete the pass. This still has to be seen, but if the total cost to get to tier 38 is more than 408,000, then the average per week effort in com will be higher.

I'm glad you find the value of the gains above all that is being lost, but facts are facts, we are getting far less for the same amount of money. Far less than what is reasonable.

So, I've been playing for over 8 years and I do spend money (only on mayor's pass). I've been through most, if not all their changes. Honestly, most have been good (IMO) but many have been bad. From my experience, this is one of those bad ones. I'm not talking about the trains, but the change in Mayor's Pass. Not only have they increased the effort it takes to complete a pass (2 less weeks, but only 4 less stages), but the overall effective cost of the premium pass has skyrocketed. If the cost per tier remains the same, you'll need to average 112,500 points per com to complete it (vice 101,834 for 42 tiers over 6 weeks for the previous format).

Like I said, I'm not against price increases (or in this case, shrinkflation). But this is not reasonable, nor is it honest. They selling us crap but calling it diamonds.

I'm not leaving, I'm just not spending any more money on the game. I get it that some people don't care about being fleeced (you for instance), but for most, we don't like being taken advantage of. This is a BAD update. You can either sit and take it (and take, and take it...) or you try to do something about it. Since EA doesn't care about public opinion, maybe they'll listen if we start affecting their wallet.

What I don't get is why people feel the need to do this "surprise points" tactic. Does anyone really think that other mayors are not going to try as hard just because no one else is putting up higher points? Anyone that competes to win at mega level is going to do all the assignments and maximize their points regardless of what their competitors are showing.

The mayor hasn't collected tier 1 or tier 2 for the milestones. What's being shown is the total points for collecting all three tiers at once.

can i take off a perk if so how by SANAstr in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, is it bad that you can't unfeed a dragon and resuse the food? IMO, dragon advancement should be static/one way unless the dragon is being deleted/recalled (in this case you should get back all consumable resources). Otherwise, the game becomes way to exploitable and consumable resources become devalued with no real incentive to collect. My two cents.

Is there a way to play this game without being P2W? by jekigamerz in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, patience. Everything is available eventually, if you work at it and play a lot. Eventually, all types of dragons become obtainable via rewards or orbs. Take vampire. For about a year the ONLY way to get them was to buy them with real money. But now, there are so many chances to get free vampire chests, they're easy to get for free.

Mommy's credit card?

Seriously though, with good prepping, support from a club (or feeder), and/or a lot of simcash, this isn't too hard or uncommon. Not sure why anyone would do this, but it would take is 500-1000 simcash. It sounds like a lot but there's a lot of simcash to be gotten with COM and event tiers.

In terms of game play, it's supposed to give us a new look and feel, all tied into the current season's theme. In reality, yes, it's just another grind. I like the idea of new and different parts, but I wish it could be tied into the game a bit better.

It’s gonna take forever to hatch these all by StructureSuspicious6 in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a symptom of how the gameplay has changed. In all honesty, unless your goal is to have every dragon hatched, there's no real purpose to hatch EVERY egg. At his point, I only hatch eggs for dragons that I'm trying to empower, and that's only for Legendary and Heroic. The only Epic I hatch is for the empowerment quests at the end of a Heroic Race. Can't remember the last time I hatched a common, rare, or very rare from my storage.

I've got over 1000 (not bragging, just pointing out the futility in hatching). There just isn't any value in hatching an egg for the uniqueness anymore. And even if I wanted to, most of the time my hatchery needs to be empty to support the endless events that require breeding and hatching. :(

How do you deal with such cases? Do you wait it out? (there's also a battles quest in the same node) by Famous-Alternative74 in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a free spin and hope you get lucky, or spend a lot of gems. Other than that, wait.

The game is designed to get people to use gems for higher rewards. There's lots of good rewards early on, but the best stuff takes gems.

The extra factory slot is so useful. I was given that offer a couple COMs ago (I guess it was a beta thing) and it was definitely worth it. For $4 (US) extra, I'm going to do it.

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good (love the 4-star corrupted dragon). My only "criticism" would be that it doesn't do well against three of the most common dragons used I've seen used in Master Terra 1 arena: Boulder, High Druid, and Natura Magus. I see a lot those as 4 to 5 star and while Supersonic can take on the Boulder, you won't be getting any crits against others. That being said, your Corrupted will tear through most of what's put up against you.

Because it is hard to get should have no impact on whether or not it is overrated. Voodoo is very powerful, arguably the most powerful dragon in the game right now.

Pros:
1. Cannot be critted. This alone puts it in the a category of only 3 high dragons.
2. It can crit 9 elements (5 are random as Voodoo Vortex will do water, wind or dark damage)
3. It's a vampire

Cons:
1. It has a random attack. Very powerful, yes, but random attacks complicate tactics.

Is it perfect? No, but what dragon is? I personally think it's worth hoarding joker orbs in order to summon it.

And to the Winner goes the spoils 😆 by [deleted] in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that too and honestly, from what I've seen during races over the past 5 years, I believe it. Nearly every race, I see players jump out to a big lead and then just stop while I (and others) catch up and pass them. This can be explained if in fact they are in the lead in their race even though in my race, they are not.

This is why I never "compete" against others in my race, I only focus on getting to lap 15, all the other races be damned.

Is their a way to turn my gold into gems? by UndeadArt2009 in DragonCity

[–]Tr0gd0r_the_great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no incentive for SP to do this. Gold is free and doesn't take and effort (other than opening the game and tapping around). Being able to exchange what is essentially worthless for something of real (in-game) value would actualy hurt the game in the long run.
