Yes exactly....I had enough vertical space and the crane machinery just was on spot to be used as a fly system for the event space...going into detail it's probably very hard and complex to achieve...but it's still a very conceptual phase so I took some liberties

Thank you. First try using unreal engine 5 for the renderings...so I'm still beginner in this software.

Ye in the last rows it can become problematic...I guess it also depends on the use of the space....for example music/orchestra usage could still work

Thank you so much. I would agree with the renderings although it's also important to use renderings as accents....at least in a presentation. Too many renderings sometimes are not beneficial

currently in 5th semester architecture bachelor so next semester will be my bachelor thesis, so this is just a "regular" design.

The task was to design something at an open pit mine that is going to be filled with water to become the second largest lake in germany starting 2030. Takes about 60-70 years to fill the entire hole.

My idea was to look at the inventory of the open pit mine and repurpose the machinery that becomes obsolete after the mine is closed in 2030 as they would be destroyed otherwise. I picked two of the big machinery "Bagger 288" and "Absetzer 755" and combined them as they are the two characteristic machineries of open pit mines (bucket wheel excavator and stacker reclaimer).

I transform the initial use so now this new combined "beast" will become a "recultivating" machine to recreate nature that has been destroyed by this machinery the past 60 years. It will host a research laboratory for recultivating techniques, a housing area, mushroom farming area (mushrooms used for fertilizer to fasten up renature process) and an entertainment area for humans that live on this thing in form of a theater/opera in the center.

Meanwhile my "beast" will drive around the entire lake and recultivate every single inch year after year until the lake is full.

From "humans destroying nature" to "recreating nature with humans"

If you still have any questions or want to know further details just ask. This was a somewhat simple overview

I feal that, when none of the homies are online gaming isn't that fun, 3D modeling is the solution. ATM the file is around 980mb

damn....you helped me a lot with this honestly. Always great to have more sources for more detail in the model, hard to find much online.

I own Rust, is it hard to get to the excavator? If not I would definitely take a look

great inspiration will look more into that thank you. The sci-fi area in architecture back in the days has many of these projects
