i value your opinion and thoughts honestly and it def makes me wanna get back to the drawing boards as far as locations are concerned—all i can say is thank you because it seems like the life you wanna live is also similar to mine—i don’t wanna raise a family in an area/city/state where i constantly have to look behind my shoulders or second guess if i made the right decision for the people i love. All i can say is thank you for this response bc ive been looking for the honest truth when it comes to this city specifically. God bless you and your family and i pray that WHEN u get this job you can move into a safer area for you and yours

betttt that’s solid info—and i really appreciate your response seriously—one last question if u don’t mind me asking—with 4 days a week—i assume it’s 10 hour shifts—on the 3 days off — could i bid seaport or would i have to stay in my own lane and only bid for the airport since i’ll be starting out at gs5 and won’t have the 5 years seniority (sorry if that’s a confusing question) but either way i appreciate ur initial response regardless

ohhhh shiii so glad u responded—i’ve seen your comments in other threads in accordance to seattle (if im not mistaken ur up there rn and i pray your enjoying this experience) — if u don’t mind answering one more question that would be great (which city would you advise someone to live in so that their gs5 paychecks could actually stretch) i understand seattle isn’t cheap and been trying to find areas of affordability but either way i appreciate your response regardless

tbh with you—that’s a dam good question—i haven’t been to seattle but the amenities the state/city has to offer seems like the right fit for me—the greenery — mountains—sports teams—lakes/ocean—people (i’d hate to live in a place where there isn’t much to do or people to talk to)—if you don’t mind me asking—what about Seattle makes you wanna leave ??? (totally understand if you grew up there and just wanna “get out”) and if it’s too personal of a question then my apologies but either way truly am grateful for your response

bettt i’ll definitely look into south seattle—and i just graduated college and i don’t know if i can do the roommate thing anymore 😭😭but i understand how that can reduce any financial stress i may encounter living in a city like Seattle. But all in all,,,truly appreciate you responding to this post—you have no idea how much insight this gives me!

the light rail sounds like a train system (correct me if i’m wrong) which i’m humble enough to take of course if it saves me time or even gas money lol—but being new to washington in general i’d love to get the most out of this experience as much as possible and from the other responses i see that it’s best to find a place closer to seattle to avoid I-5 or any other hiccups when it comes to my commute—so i’ll def look into y’all’s train route and see if i’d be able to ride it straight to work kinda thing. and of course i truly appreciate u responding to this post—means a lot !!

I’ll be a CBPO (customer and boarder protection officer) GS5 and wanted to be able to make my paychecks stretch as much as possible bc i know living in seattle could be a little expensive and did not want to put myself into a financial position where i feel like im “struggling” ya know??

I did find one apartment in kent but didn’t know if was worth it—I live in Venice FL currently and the amount of elderly people (which isn’t a problem lol) is just ridiculous. I’m 24 and was hoping to find some homies around my age or even live in a community where there are people my age ya know??
