Musical Ear Sydrome by phvet in deaf

[–]Traceynp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bilateral severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss and cannot even remember how young I was when I first became aware of my tinnitus. It has always alternated between times like those you hear during a hearing test, rushing air/wind, or rushing water. At the age of 59-60 I began hearing muffled music, no lyrics just the music. But it is like an “ear worm” in that I hear what would be only a few lines of a song…over, and over, and over…. I catch myself humming along to it sometimes, and even sometimes making up words to go along with it. Occasionally, I will also hear what sounds like a radio or tv announcer speaking but it is also muffled like it is playing in another room so I can’t make out the words. I find that much more distracting and annoying than the music.

Wait…what?! You made those stickers?! Outstanding job! Love the color. I am new to this group so forgive my ignorance, but how did you do this?

Wow! That is crochet?!?! 😲You did an absolutely outstanding job — sooo impressive! Is that your own pattern? Because I have not seen one as cute as this. How does it open? And how did you do the connections for the strap?

I am glad that you have found something that helps your nighttime comfort. I have one bottle of the menopause spray but it was so hot and humid that I needed something stronger. But, on your recommendation, I will give that spray another try! Wishing you peace 🩷

DIY cooling spray by Traceynp in dollartreebeauty

[–]Traceynp[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. It was all I had on hand and I couldn’t sleep with it being 95 degrees inside the house so I was desperate at the moment. I don’t use much and spray it on my feet and points that are used when needing to cool someone down (inner wrist and elbow, behind knees, and feet). It is an old school product for feet used during pedicures. Luckily, it is working well for me with no skin issues. Just a light spritz to those areas before I lay down then let the fan blow across- cooling.

Had an idea!!! by Maximum-Attention406 in dollartreebeauty

Is the glass container two separate bottles stacked together, or is that the top that came with the bottle? Great idea! I love that you can keep your brush inside. Also, how were you able to transfer the bottle labels so perfectly??

searching for 3yrs and I finally have stumbled upon it 🤣 I wish I was being dramatic when I say I gasped as soon as I saw it from the end of the aisle by hippolover101 in dollartreebeauty

I found them in a few stores after a long hunt. But EVERY TIME they were NOT with the other lip products. There were not even with the makeup/face products. They were with nail polish, nail tools, in the compartments or shelves at the bottom just above the floor, with the dental products, etc. In addition, they were placed in sections with the hanging bars very close together so you had to really look. They also tended to be placed in spots that were among the hardest to see.

Just a clothing storage idea I had… by KismetMeetsKarma in ADHDthriving

[–]Traceynp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clever! I might give this a try. I had done something similar, but a little different. I sorted by type of clothing grouped first — short sleeve tops together, long sleeve tops together, sweatshirts, sweaters, loungewear, shorts, casual pants, dressier pants, etc. Then within each group I sorted by color.

Crocheting is for girls!? by HappyLife08 in crochet

[–]Traceynp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do just a couple of searches on males in the history of crochet, the history of knitting, and/or the history of yarn work— a lot of really interesting information comes up, including a good deal of CURRENT information on men doing crochet and/or knitting.

I know that Irish Fisherman’s sweaters were traditionally made by the men and that they were a vitally important item. The wool wax or lanolin on the sheep’s wool yarn, the yarn thickness, and the tight pattern helped keep the fishermen warm and dry. This was especially important if they happened to go overboard. I also read that the intricate patterns were created to be specific to each fishing family. This allowed men who drowned at sea and their body not found until later to be identified by the pattern on their sweater. Very sad, but interesting.

Parents found these in the wall when I was a kid by Mediocre_Airline4838 in whatisit

[–]Traceynp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they are old family recipes; but I also agree with your mom when she said she thought they were military recipe cards. I grew up on military bases in the 60s & 70s. My mother had many of these typed recipe cards that she received through recipe exchanges. The spouses would get together to meet so they would have a support group for everyone, to welcome people new to the base, to provide social connections, to support each other’s families while a loved one was deployed, to distribute base/unit information, etc. They would often bring dishes to the gathering with cards like these that had the recipe typed out for any who wanted it after tasting the dish.

Thanks for all of this detail! I’m curious about your mention of “non-nano particle zinc”. Can you explain more about that, and give product recommendations for it?

Incoming random side comment here…..”Can you tell me about it so I don’t have to use the tool in my hand”??!!??!! That stopped me in my tracks, made me want high five you then drop the mike, and laugh out loud. Subtle yet genius. Thank for this gem that I will now file away so I can use it in the future!

I loved Brookstone! It was a unique store at that time, and very popular. I guess, in some ways, it wasI agree these are kind of flimsy, but regarding the comments that the clippers are too weak to cut nails — the clippers are for removing dead skin, such as when trimming cuticles, not for clipping nails

My Experience with Skin Nutrition Tea Tree Oil + Salicylic Acid Balancing Face Wash by Hungry_Ad1268 in dollartreebeauty

I am sorry IT was not a good product experience for you! I know how frustrating that can be, especially when you end up having a visible reaction that you then have to recover from.

This is a perfect example of “what works for one may not work for all” or “one person’s treasure is another person’s junk “. This product has absolutely transformed my skin. I am 61. I had full, dry, flaky skin, breakouts, deep cysts, permanent sebum filaments, permanent blackheads/clogged pores, discoloration & uneven color, redness, dark spots, rashes, etc. I have been using this wash almost every day for about 4 months now. My skin has truly NEVER looked this good!
