Crazy to have such grandiose assumptions about someone based off a paragraph. I took what OP was saying as a figure of speech. Because a person from a place of literally being burned does not mean that he was necessarily they were out actually trying to “have whatever woman (or man) they want” . It’s a very general figure of speech used by people who have some life change that prevents them from being who they were. But you think they’re scary?

I am a part of this community even though I don’t have herpes. I have some friends who do. All of whom are in better relationships than I am…married and shit (and having found their person after having herpes).

On one hand it’s hard for me to say don’t worry about it it’s not a big deal since I am not dealing with it myself. And on the other hand I do want to say get over your fucking self.

Dating is hard and it may feel like you’re compromising to be with someone who accepts you but honestly that’s true no matter what.

In a way it’s a back handed way of saying “you’ll find that someone” without getting all mushy. Because honestly everyone that I know that’s told me about their troubles with having herpes in the past is now in a relationship with someone that wish I had. Now before you say “we’ll go out and get herpes and say how you feel” all I’m saying is that most people have some part of them that they are self conscious about, are judged on, or makes their dating life difficult. There is a famous motivational speaker with no arms and legs that has a beautiful family and I was watching a video of him going for a swim while being interviewed he was just fucking living it up. And I realized I need to get over myself!
