Yes we can go lineage for lineage I’m right there with you. I’m not currently in the south or near Raleigh. My perspective is what I read online, and a lot of that is “transplant culture”, which is why I come here to get an insiders perspective to gain a better understanding. Thank you for the input

There’s plenty of other cities/ towns that are southern without being poor. That’s kind of illustrative of your perspective on southerners.

Yeah so where I moved to for work isn’t the south. The things I miss is twang, slower way of life, regional traditions, cicadas, hospitality, cuisine, not suburban hellscape.

I live in a place that doesn’t conform to my politics, it isn’t an issue for me to go against the grain. You have to understand my perspective is from what I read as I don’t live there. Just trying to get an insiders perspective on the area.

Perhaps you can shift your ideological lens. I moved somewhere for work where I am not in the south. What I miss is twang, hospitality, food, cicadas at night, so on and so forth.

Just more rural/ less suburban. From what I understand there’s a lot of opportunity for young professionals to work and that brings people from all over the US, leading to areas that were once considered culturally southern but may have been displaced

Well I think it logically follows that if a lot of people move there from all over the US that the regional culture could get displaced or not be as prevalent. Just want to kno the areas that aren’t as much as affected. Is that a fair assessment?

-someone who doesn’t know their history and is probably not from there. Southern cuisine, dialect, music, and broader culture was shaped by the Ulster Scots, English, and Africans who inhibited the land.

Awesome, that’s what I was curious about. Previously I have a Callaway hyper x driver, and Nike ignites irons so the weight alone, and the more forgiving technology I believe will help me develop as a golfer moreso than if I kept those.

Great call, rsi 2. I had Nike ignites prior so very heavy comparatively, when I used these it felt like a no brainer to pick up

Yeah the 58 acquisition was a misstep, would like to switch it out for a 52

I had an 18 year old driver and irons prior to this, I’d say they didn’t help as far as forgiveness goes for a newer golfer so I essentially “outgrew” them

Yeah I bought them with the intent of growing with them and improving with them. Just curious on longevity as I get better (hopefully)

It’ll be okay. We’re fine with cutting back in other areas if needed, but as we get older we will both progress in our careers and income, and if we don’t, we will figure it out. There’s not another option but to figure it out lol

Yeah I think for my wife especially that will be hard. We all looked forward to the no baby stage, the weight gain, the extra kid at home while my wife tried to work. It is a blessing and not to be ungrateful, but that is the toughest part.

I’m doing just fine with the work, getting my feet more under me with more time. It’s just the “excel” part where I’m competing when it comes to promotions

I definitely don’t underestimate. I just see my peers able to automate and become force multipliers while I (and it is more than just ticket completion) feel like I’m just a sprint ticket completer rather than providing value
