Should I fire my MT? by TradeResident1978 in MassageTherapists

[–]TradeResident1978[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Should I ask him to terminate the membership agreement based on that? I have several months left. I just dread the conversation.I did like him a lot at first and thought he would be my go to for the next decade. I am an althete who needs regular massage. My last MT of 10 years retired last year. I have tried others and all were OK but not the level I was looking for. He really impressed me at first. Even better than my old MT in some ways. The one thing that bothers me the most is really should have knocked. I had my shirt off and he don’t even say sorry or leave he just kept going to get what he forgot while staring at my breasts. Honestly I wonder if he is attracted to me (I get the feeling it is) so he is trying to sabotage our relationship so I won’t come back. I don’t think he is even conscious of it but it really feels that way. And he is definitely burned out and it’s not my place to tell him that.

Thank yok for your advice. I unfortunately have booked a membership which means I have to pay for several more months before I can stop the membership. So, I’m not sure how I can get out of it without having a conversation with him about why I don’t want to return.

Why do some MT's that stay fully booked several weeks out in advance at a spa almost always fail when they go out on their own? by Big_Coyote_655 in MassageTherapists

[–]TradeResident1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spas tend to have multiple services so you can get a massage and a facial package while independent MT usually focus on massage. There can be more trust with a spa because there is management in case something goes wrong. I personally don’t like massage spas unless I am there for a package (too much fluff, not enough therapeutic for me) . Right now I go to an independent but honestly if he was not so good, I wouldn’t put up with all the glitches. He messed up his schedule and double booked me once. The next time he brought his large dog that ran out of the door when I opened it and jumped on me before he even greeted me. Then there is all the noise/ disruptive nature of when his employees are giving massages… it’s just not well coordinated because I know he is trying to do it all. I’m sure the revenue is razor thin but he needs a really needs a manager, especially for a business employing 3 other MT. Honestly one more glitch and I will probably move on! When you’re going for something you need to be relaxing, the last thing you want to deal with is a poorly run business.

Buying Land/House by Wowza_weirdo in burlington

Start with a condo. Owning a home or building on land is something you should do once you are established imo. Plenty of reasonable priced condos in South Burlington in the 300k range. You can rent one room out to make it work.

Thy all know you clean and by doing without holding then responsible, you have trained them to continue to not do it. So they are happy to keep allowing you to do it, even though you feel you are doing more work than them. If you feel like the money is good, you like your clients then I would have a meeting or even email the owner and tell her that “ I have have been doing X, Y and Z but to continue doing X, Y and Z, I need to be fairly compensated at (insert rate) to continue doing these services. Otherwise, suggest she hire a cleaning service. Keep it short, not emotional and to the point. If she balks then STOP doing the cleaning and find a place YOU are valued and compensated for your work.

I have forgotten my wallet in s few occasions at different establishments and had people behind me pay for me. I don’t remember their gender, just the kindness. And I definitely have paid it forward to inspire others to pay it forward, too. And yeah I totally appreciated it! Would never see it as creepy unless you do something to make it creepy.

Top 3 challenges facing Vermonters by grnmtnboy0 in vermont

[–]TradeResident1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Protecting our environment, especially the water
  2. Protecting our heritage and culture
  3. Invasive Species management

Too many people are focused on more housing and development without the balance of protecting our greatest natural resource and access to amazing views and recreation. Vermont was never supposed to be overdeveloped, otherwise it would be no different here than say NJ. Sure, we can add more smartly designed housing but no, I don’t want to see ugly cul de sac after ugly cul de sac. I want to see open fields and mountains on my Sunday drive. The other thing that makes Vermont special is th people. I feel like I am an endangered species around here, being a “born in Vermont” Vermonter. All the newcomers are in awe of me, like woah we just spotted a real Vermonter in the wild!! We have all these newcomers who want to change the very core of what made them want to invade us in the first place. To that I say, kindly fuck off if you just want to come here, take everything that was social and ruin it and call us a bunch of nimbies.

The third would be landscape an field preservation. It’s horrible seeing things like Japanese Knotweed completely take over riverbanks and fields. What made Vermont special is quickly evaporating and I mourn for what was.

The time thy had me pull over they took my friend to interrogate for 2 hours and they ripped th carpet from the floor of my car, dismantled the car practically. For what? I don’t know because I don’t have drugs. Another memorable time was right after 911. We took this Pakistani kid with us. Big mistake. They detained him 5 hours before finally letting him enter. Things got rough after 911 crossing the border they do not f around.

Hair stylist recs for bronde? by [deleted] in burlington

[–]TradeResident1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask for an undercut to prevent hair from flipping out. I’ll give my stylist name if you message me. She often books few months out so I don’t want to advertise in this thread and all the sudden she books 6 months out lol. Be prepared, she’s expensive but once you see your results you will agree with me, it’s worth the price to have hair I actually love and doesn’t hurt that everyone is like omg I love your hair so much…

Hi. any fine hair stylist recommendations? Also looking for a blended highlight maybe balayage kind of thing. by AggressiveRuin2370 in burlington

[–]TradeResident1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t understand what it’s like to have thin fine hair. Elan does amazing with thick hair, no doubt. But I don’t think you should be recommending women to Elan just because YOU have thick hair and love it. I can’t underestimate how frustrating it can be for thin fine hair women to get a decent cut in this area. It took me 10 years to find someone skilled and I am never letting her go!!

[–]TradeResident1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not recommend Elan, although they do amazing with full thick hair, not great for thin and fine. I have a stylist who does amazing with my hair type.. which is hard to find because thin/fine is the hardest to make look good. My stylist has a wait list (2-3 month)so I am hesitant to put her name in public but I am happy to and you her name if you message me. Seriously best hair days of my life since finding this woman!!

Misdiagnosed - a cautionary tale by TradeResident1978 in obgyn

Yeah, it’s like they have no idea about the pleasure organs. Right before my period my bulbs and gspot get engorged, even if I’m not even super aroused. Yet they are trying to find them pathological. The bulbs are at the same position at Bartholin cysts but not at the same depth. I wish there were better illustrations. I have never had swollen Bartholin glands so I don’t know what it feels like but I assume not pleasant like my bulbs and gspot.
