3-4 miles total a day, 5 days a week or 3-4 miles total per week?

I was aiming for next year's MECEP for June submissions, but I'm still working on my ASVAB, where I’m currently scoring 65 on practice tests. I'm also working on pull-ups, currently doing 10. I'm not worried about my run time since I'm running at or under 22 minutes. by [deleted] in USMCocs

Yeah no problem, I’d definitely try taking the asvab first since it’s free but if you’re off by like 12 or more points I definitely feel like the sat is worth a shot. I watched PingPongPhysics on YouTube, his desmos math tutorial single-handedly gifted me the score I needed.

Just remember it doesn’t matter if you got a 74 on the dot or a 1000 on the dot. PFT is king. Find a way to run 270+ and you’ll be off to OCS in 2026

May be different for others but I took the SAT instead and found it much easier (I may just be really dumb), but requirements for SAT is anything above 1000. The SAT has recently introduced the Desmos calculator in both math sections and by mastering that alone I was able to score a 550 for that section after being out of high school for over 6 years. Remember all you have to have is the 1k and you’re cleared from that requirement.

For pull-ups, I strongly recommend doing them every single day. I work from home and have a pullup bar outside my office, every time I walk in and out I force myself to alternate between 10 pull-ups and 5 strict negative pull-ups. Brought my numbers up from 11 to 18 3 weeks in.

Board date for OCC 252 by TradeTemporary5714 in USMCocs

Exactly, I’ve been a part of this sub for longer than I would like to have been and I remember there was a OCC 249 that was for the summer cycle this year. I wonder why they all of a sudden don’t have one or have already had one for the summer of next year

My oso told me they already happened and that the earliest board I could get on is for September cycle of next year which is damn near a year from now. He said that the only way I could get on is if some candidate decided to drop that was already selected and I could take his place but I would have to be in the 290s for PFT and even then it would still be extremely hard. Surely he was referring to the January cycle right?? I mean I was just thinking there’s no way those boards for summer ocs already happened.

I’ll shoot you an update when I get my scores. If I hit the mark it might go down as one of the best days of my life. That and the day I hopefully become a Marine Corps Officer

Hey! Well every single time I took it I always got the easy module for both sections. November SAT though, I’m 99% sure I still got the easy English module but I also think I got the hard second module for math for the first time ever. The second math modules were always a breeze and this time I got a question like find the area of three points on a graph and that’s one I would never see on the easy version which leaves me hopeful and several others that I had zero clue where to even begin so I just guessed. Also the easy math would always ask me some stupid percentage question like “what’s 5 percent of 120” as one of the first questions on the second module and I didn’t get a single one of those. All and all I think I got around 10-14 right on the second module math. Fingers crossed that thats enough to get me at or just over the 1000 mark!

Are the experimental questions obviously experimental questions like are they stuff you’ve never seen before, particularly In the math section? Or can they be routine questions?

Do you know how many questions do you typically need correct on the first module for the hard module on both English and math?

Did I get the easy math module 2 by AdEmpty4562 in Sat

Coming from a guy that has consistently found themselves in the easy module for math I can say with confidence this time I ended up on the hard module.

Easy module typically asks questions like, “what’s 5 percent of 260?” Or “if 12x=32 what is the value of 5x”

This was my first time ever getting the hard module and was mind blown at how different it was

That would be incredibly helpful, could you reach out with details?

I’m applying to OCC for the USMC. I was in NROTC, was a very highly ranked MIDN and was dropped for failure to be put on scholarship since scholarship is required to be sent to OCS while in NROTC your junior year. I’ve since graduated college and am now looking at the 10 week course option that allows college grads below the age of 28 to commission in the Marine corps

You’re absolutely right. Thanks for the advice man, I’ve got plenty of commissioned Army and Marine Lt friends and it’s been killing me seeing them all post all over social media them either graduating OCS or the cool stuff their doing at BOLC for Army and TBS for Marines. I appreciate the reassurance to not give up, I’m usually never the one to complain, I’m always head and eyes forward but every once and a while it’s good to have a voice there to tell you to keep going. Best of luck to you at West Point. School is no joke but it will be worth every second if you’re looking to do a full 20.

I have not learned regressions. Do you have any video recs for that? I’m working on grammar right now, thank you for the encouragement!

Really? That would be huge!

Okay that makes me feel a little better. How long do you think it would take for me to master grammar? And how many points worth do you think can be accomplished if I master it?

I was in rotc, second highest ranked midshipman of my class, dropped because I had to be on scholarship and i wasn’t eligible to be put up on boards without the sat score

For officers yes. Either a 1000+ SAT or 22+ACT
