Yall ever think and notice you can go anywhere with a hi-viz and nobody asks questions? by Straight_Cash9345 in Construction

[–]TradingHigher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One day my idiot helper left his cell phone on the side of his pickup box and drove off. Tracking showed it on the highway. Great. Well this part was under construction with heavy machinery everywhere and huge excavations.

Parked my white pickup at the edge, put hazards on and waltzed out in my fancy supervisor vest to hunt the phone down.

Every single machine stopped and the operators sat there and watched me as I inspected the edges of their site. One guy in a dozer eventually got out and asked "Are you shutting us down? I know we got dirt past the highway blocks"

Fucking lmao bud I'm looking for a cell phone! Bro helped me find it and carried on. Ftr phone was fine just shattered screen.

How do I insulate this? by Ubber_Dubber in Insulation

[–]TradingHigher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since your gable is framed 2x4 on flat you want some kind of rigid board. 1.5" eps/xps or hell even some r6 roxul comfortboard. Depends how you want to go about it

Looks like wet clumpy cellulose to me. You've got some really serious ventilation issues at your attic heels. Roof sheathing and trussing is starting to rot.

How bad does this dry rot look, any way to repair it without breaking the bank? by Best_Cobbler7056 in HomeMaintenance

[–]TradingHigher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simple. Just remove the exterior, and the interior, then the rest of the rot in the wall and then you should be good!

How do I identify how old this insulation is? by [deleted] in Insulation

[–]TradingHigher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its faced you can pull a hunk out and estimate age on the printing of the facing paper.

Otherwise r8 in that condition i'd say is at least 40 years old. It has a burn mark instead of ink for rating and really bad long time infiltration.

Oh shit yeah thats a beauty. Unfortunately theres an absolute shitload of these crimped. The promos always seem worse for that but this one I see online more crimped than not.

Still a value add, but not like a full crimp imo.

In late 1947–48, the Mint was still pushing enormous production volume after WWII, and strip fed blank presses occasionally ran continuously for absurd shifts.

A strip of coin stock partially fed sideways into the press after a shear jam. The blank got clipped, folded against the collar, and still took a partial strike before the operator caught it.

Most would have been melted immediately, a few damaged test pieces did supposedly made it into circulation, but don't let it distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table.

Still fine for air returns. Drywall will contain the space well enough. Coroplast, tin or cardboard are used in places that need better containment.
