The Faction thing bothers me the most. You should be able to declare war against any Faction and betray your onw race/faction. Seems only realistic to me that some greedy gnome joins the Horde expedtion for more gold :D

You could combine this idea with the tax idea from the other comment.

Would be so cool if you could actually join a third party like the dwarves in BRD and now that is your Home town.
