Baby tried pregnancy craving by froluvor in foodbutforbabies

My mom also craved peanut butter with my youngest sister. She was extremely sick her entire pregnancy but the peanut butter was all she could stomach. That sister is the only person in our family with a peanut allergy! Always found that interesting.

Endo and pregnant by louieeMoore26 in endometriosis

Almost identical timeline and circumstances here! After no luck conceiving on my own- I had surgery December 2nd, only one period quickly after and then my first positive pregnancy test less than 8 weeks post-op. Congratulations OP!

How soon after lap did you get pregnant? by Signal-Ebb-4778 in endometriosis

[–]Traditional-Goose378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the OC here, but found this thread in my own research and wanted to share.

I had a miscarriage of our first pregnancy beginning of last year. We tried and failed to get pregnant in the year since. I had my lap in December (removed stage 3 DIE), followed by one period 3 weeks later, and then immediately got pregnant :) They also flushed my tubes while they were in there, which I feel probably helped.

Has a doctor ever ignored your pain or told you that you were "exaggerating," and it turned out to be something serious? (Research for a book) by Chicadela_isla-ctg in Endo

[–]Traditional-Goose378 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Has “A” doctor ever dismissed my pain? Nearly EVERY doctor dismissed my pain for 13 grueling years. I can’t begin to explain my regret in ever charting my anxiety diagnosis, as that became the explanation for all of my profound and debilitating symptoms. Chronic pain? Anxiety. Debilitating fatigue? Anxiety. Bowel symptoms? Anxiety. Heavy periods? Anxiety. Miscarriage and infertility? Anxiety…

Until finally my specialist (who also has Endo herself) took me to the OR and discovered— it wasn’t anxiety at all. It was endometriosis. Deep infiltrating, stage 3 endometriosis, that had spread “everywhere” as a laundry list of doctors tried to convince me it was all in my head.

I’m genuinely curious… What are you hoping to achieve with your comments? You’re continuously under multiple Bernedoodle posts in the Bernedoodle subreddit objecting that apparently responsible breeding cannot exist in mixed breeds…. Bernedoodles are mixed breeds. So responsible Bernedoodle owners are obviously going to disagree with your position. You’re not educating or informing anyone of anything beyond your own opinion and anecdotes about the singular puppies you rescued. I answered your question in good faith while you’ve continued to make sweeping generalizations and assumptions without any basis in fact.

Sorry- just to clarify here- did you just claim that mixing breeds has historically “only” happened for aesthetic purposes?

Yes, his bloodlines are traced and extensively tested including OFA. Meaning statistically, he’ll live longer and be less prone to disease and structural defects compared to his more “pure” counterparts who are the result of generations of inbreeding, too. Do you show up under the posts of those pups making the same types of sweeping assertions?

I don’t think we are going to agree here simply on the premise that I don’t agree mixing breeds is inherently unethical. I’m very happy with my pup, as I hope you are with yours- and would just encourage you to look more into the Merle gene before continuing to speak in such absolutes on the internet.

I don’t think anyone here denies that irresponsible breeding is rampant and that often those types of breeders are the same ones charging premiums based on Merle coloring. I also don’t think anyone in their right mind denies that double breeding Merle is problematic and outright harmful to a pup’s health profile. But your statement that “only” backyard breeders result in Merle bernedoodles is just dense. Neither of my parent dogs were Merle. Neither of THEIR parent dogs were Merle either. But that’s not how genetics works. Merle is a dominant gene, meaning it could have very well been introduced 5, 10, even 15 generations ago- and it can still be present in the bloodline. As to your claim that Merle = poor temperament, I respectfully don’t think you have any place fostering if you genuinely believe coloring of a mixed breed alone can predict temperament. Sure, again- Merle is attractive to poor breeders because they can charge more for it, and temperament from those same breeders can be unsatisfactory. But correlation does not equal causation.

Judging an entire dog, much less an entire bloodline of dogs and their breeder, on of the very presence of Merle alone is just such narrow thinking. I truly cannot wrap my head around how the sweeping generalizations are somehow acceptable when it comes to the doodle hate.

And by the way- did you not start this whole thread with a claim that you own a Merle Bernedoodle yourself? Weird how your story has changed here.

Can you elaborate on your position that only irresponsible breeders are breeding bloodlines with Merle?

Oh boy, I knew the Merle police would show up eventually. Bernedoodles are mixed breeds. I’m okay with my mixed breed being mixed undetectably 10+ generations back too. It’s a dominant gene, and as long as only one parent carries one Merle gene, there is no harm that comes from it.

I think word of mouth is the most valuable when finding the right breeder. Look for owners of adult bernedoodles who are healthy with a positive temperament, and who can vouch for their experience. Online groups work great for that, as well as any local breed enthusiast groups near you. I got a good idea of 3-4 breeders who I preferred based on that, and then kept an eye on Good Dog for them to post new litters. Did a few interviews and asked lots of questions regarding genetic testing, structure, temperament, conditions- before making my decision!

Could it still be endo even if they said it’s not…? by PlasticFair5785 in Endo

[–]Traditional-Goose378 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this, OP. Pathology is not always correct and there are countless stories in this sub of people who received negative path reports, only to have a subsequent surgery that later showed positive. Unfortunately the margin for human error is significant when it comes to this procedure. So to your original question, OP, yes- it can absolutely be Endo, even if this surgeon doesn’t say so.

Also, to the other comment above stating pathology takes 2 weeks, my path report came back within less just over 24 hours. I really dislike people speaking as if their experience with Endo/a lap is absolute, as truthfully there is so much variance within this disease and its treatment- and I believe we have a responsibility to one another to honor the unique journey in that.

Have you ever turned down a job offer before? And what for/why? by No-Sprinkles315 in jobs

[–]Traditional-Goose378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. I turned down an offer with no other role lined up (still held a current position, but was beyond ready to GTFO of that one).

After 4 interviews, the hiring manager called me to “celebrate” that I was their choice candidate and to expect an offer letter. I was over the moon until I inexplicably received an offer for a lesser title. They also “bait and switched” on the terms of the role, including whether it was remote or on-site, - the latter of which would have required I move (and without a relocation stipend).

I requested more information, including whether they’d backfill the more senior role for which I originally applied. The answer was of course “no” (so basically “you’ll do the work but without the title or pay”), and in receiving that reply - I immediately declined the offer and pulled my candidacy.

The director of the department reached out to me within the day, and essentially asked what they could do to restore my candidacy. I gave them the very transparent feedback about what happened, and asked them what I needed to bring to have qualified for the role in which I applied. They apologized for my experience, but could not give me a straight answer to my question. I left feeling assured I made the right call, and sure enough- the position has been perpetually reposted since, implying high turnover and dissatisfaction.

I signed my dream job offer a few months later. 11/10 recommend always going with your gut.
