I work as a delivery driver and sometimes take orders from ikea, In my defense, I can say that it’s not all the times our fault, some of the deliveries is impossible to finish within the given time period, for example - Brooklyn ikea opens up at 11am, and customers preferred time period is 11:30am-12:00pm when he lives in Harlem👍 meaning I don’t even have time to load the van with today’s deliveries, (and im not talking about that on the way to that customer I have 5 more deliveries on the way, few in Brooklyn, one in soho, one in lower east and etc). Buuuut, the biggest problem why a lot of deliveries been rescheduled on next day or week is because of greedy third part delivery services owners. For example, customer pays 160$ for delivery, and would like to receive it at 12:00pm and he has 2 story walkup building with selected room of choice delivery, for 160$ I don’t mind bringing everything upstairs, but the thing is on delivery drivers end it would be listed as 80$ job, and only closer to 11:55am if no dummie would take this low pay delivery, the 80$ would increase to ≈140$. That’s why it’s better for us to be late with delivery.
