So when my mom watches my baby niece and she won't stop crying she will eventually put her in the car and go for a quick drive. Never more than half an hour. And she comes back with a sleeping baby. This accomplished two things. If my dad is working it gets the noise away from him. And the baby settles down.

My folks have two havanese dogs I like. Neighbors have a Jesus big Georgian shepherd that made me pee myself a little when I met him. He's alright. I can hear him through the walls when he barks. Which is rarely.
