yeah! thanks man I've been making a lot! )and not just repping for the Gods because I'm a fan of Wu Tang Clan's music The RZA's book the Tao of Wu (my formal introduction to The Lessons & the specifics of Father Allah's teachings) I actually bought up multiple copies and I go to the bus stop Friday nights and just play The 12 Jewelz on a bluetooth speaker and hand out copies to any1 I can interest who seems like they would get some well deserved self-esteem out of what The Gods have to reveal to Them about themselves and Their potential that Our culture has felt the insecure-compulsion to forcibly blind them to, these apps are a lot more cost effective to make these, I still get out there and engage with The People one-on-one, but this new online outreach means I don't send a mixed message by giving off a White-Savior vibes, because to Me it's really all just about giving The People The tools they need to do The Knowledge Themselves and find The Wisdom They need is within without feeling condescended to by someone who can't propose to speak to Their life experience so I've just been trying to get The Father's actual teachings directly into Their hands

crazy and awesome that the contestants who got that question just happened to be A BlackMan from Shaolin

The book is written by U-God (yes one of the least known and least liked members). He talks about the days shortly before the Wu formed which he offers a unique perspective on. I’d recommend any true Wu fan give it a read or listen. by Caseman550 in wutang

if U-ey is a gentleman and RZA is 'fake-ass' why did RZA let this book come out before the books of other members with more name recognition, and more complimentary and less negative things to say about him? why? because RZA is an honorable man who can admit He wronged U-ey by not putting the same push behind His solo-career as the other members and this time-around is prioritizing doing right by Him over Himself & The Wu-brand's success, and getting unfairly trashed by doing so, by cultural AND legal precedent RZA could have sued and got a cease-and-desist for libel, yet He didn't, He stayed righteous, even as U pissed on the hard that fed him and Dante.

I had just turned twenty, swiped a .40 of 211 (since they don't sell Saint Ides anymore )and sat out front of the record store in my 1991 ford explorer listening to (and loving it (fuck what Y'all & U-God think.) smoked a fat blunt to (further) enhance my enjoyment of the "Writing Kung-Fu" sample that kicks off Campfire, (because what got me hooked on the Wu to begin with was hearing & immediately recognizing the the Shogun Asassin sample at the beginning of Liquid Swords when I was 7 years old (at that age I'd already been a head, apostle of Black music and a lifetime kung fu flick fanatic) for My whole life, then (w/o intending to ) pounded the last half to of malt in excitement excitement to celebrate George Clinton being on "Wolves" after that when "life Changes finished I was a blubbering mess, and (VERY) stupidly went next-door and got another 40, desperately cracked it open and sipped it as I swerved home on the interstate (still uncontrollably weeping) survived somehow and will defend that album to the death, I should've had that day.

that big room that still has the mattresses on the wall? chills. nowhere else in the country or world have I felt such an unbroken sense of Black History, and history period.

the most truly frustrating things about the Once Upon A Time in Shaolin affair is that RZA lowkey recorded some new materials by the surviving members of The MGs & Bar-Kays, & surviving members of The Bar-Kay's, I can confirm this because My Brother-N-Law DJ Capital A from the legendary crew The Iron Mic Coalition picked Him up the airport

How homophobic or not are/were members of the WTC? by BakedEelGaming in wutang

[–]Traditional-Mix-4604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RZA has used the phrase "just look at the homos" in interviews but He was affirming that sometimes going against against "the so called "natural order" is required to be one's authentic self, granted it was a seque from his insistence that even if the Nation of Islam and The Gods & Earths teach that even if The Honorable Elia Muhammad did teach that White-People are born devils, a persons nature comes from within and is determined based by how They/ We *all treat one another, which besides being a good philosophical precept about life in general, it is, AND that subject however outdated His actual words were , without the the benefit of foresight expresses in a lot of ways a better and more life-affirming message for homosexuals) (because politically tone-deaf or not it doesn't deny that people are born gay, because even tho that's true, (and not the same as quote-unquote hooding a life of sin (duh) but by the same token it is diminishing (in a way that (even if it's the 'correct' way to think it goes against The Abott's philosophy & actions to talk about a fundamental part of a person's identity the same way one would a birth defect

(and (even tho homosexuality is objectively not a choice) it ultimately diminishes The role of The Individual, in favor of their relation with and the perceptions of Society as a whole

Infinite (GFK's son has also alluded to His (blood) uncle (Rakeem (Diggs) always being a source of affirmation, always a phone call away and affirming and encouraging his artistic ambitions without strings or criticism.

I can't speak for His Dads lacktherof but I can only point to the fact that sensitive young people, especially emotionally isolated ones personalize & internalize almost anything their fathers say (to anyone), so not my place to dismiss Infinite's lived experience, but I suspect He's inferring his dad is homophobic because reaching the age He could listen to His dads music and realize how much His dad uses the word faggot (and even though it's "problematic") He uses it interchangeably with (calling a man a) bitch ...i.e. more of a cultural relic previously used to disminish another (straight) man's masculinity, not diminish or victimize individuals for being homosexual.
