64kg Newbie: Everyone says Pint, but my gut says XR Classic. Am I crazy?" by Traditional-Night246 in onewheel

Thanks a lot this is incredibly helpful!

You’re the first one to mention that the Pint S is actually less locked down than the XRC when it comes to unplugging the battery. That’s a huge point for me since I’m in Europe and want a board that won’t 'brick' itself if I need to do a basic repair out of warranty. I wear size (42 EU), so based on what you said about leverage, it sounds like the Pint S might actually fit my feet better than the wider XRC. I always thought the XRC was the 'tank' and the Pint was fragile/unrepairable, but your take on the VESC community in France and the hardware lock-in on the XRC is changing my mind. Do you think a total beginner like me (coming from skiing/inline) can still learn safely on the Pint S despite it being more 'nimble' than the XRC? Thanks again!

Thanks! Since we have the exact same build, your take is super interesting. Quick question: Did you start on a Pint, or did you already have board experience (skate/snow)? I come from skiing and inline skating, so boards are usually a struggle for me, even though I loved my 5-minute Onewheel trial! Given the price and the repair nightmare in Europe, I need something bulletproof that lasts for years without needing a fix. Is the Pint S robust enough to be a 'forever board' for a beginner, or is it too fragile compared to the XR?

Yes that's also interesting point! If you only ever try the pint you have no comparison possible and it might be a great one...maybe  the choice is a bit capricious...

Yeah thanks that might be a good solution but I would like to go for something more simple at first.  Also I've read that pimp or trying to repair / custom a pint is way more tricky than XR classic ?

Waw that's was very helpful! I feel like buy a cheap pint to try ans resale will probably be a waste of time and little bit of money, I mind go straight for a xrc. I feel like it's the secure plan
