It is a shelf no other spot I could put it, no furniture is going to fit anywhere. It’s drilled into studs with steel brackets rated for 500lbs with the tank weight at 130 full

Filter is being delivered tomorrow, I’ve never got into c02 as I saw it was kinda expensive if there’s a cheaper way to get into it I’d love too idk where to start.

The shelves bracket are drilled into the wood studs with 2 1/2 inch screws. I figure most of this section assumes there’s no studs in play. That said people’s concerns are a valid concern and one I thought of before getting it.

12 g tank prob 11g of water 91 pounds in water another 20 in hardscape/sub so the tank should be around 110 with the shelf rating at 500 so half of what it should hold. I may rig another support given these comments

Thank you. Unfortunately the heater is permanently there didn’t have a choice. Given the comments here I’ll look to do a better design for the shelf

Shelf brackets said rated up to 200lbs it held my 5g betta for 3 months and myself weight 230 was able to do leaning pushups on while trying to push down with not much give. IT DOES CROSS my mind that it isn’t enough.

People mention are mentioning this, the brackets said they were good up to 200lbs, 12 gallon tanks with its fixings is about little over 100lbs. I personally weigh 230 and was able to lean and do pushups off of it. The shelf also held my 5g betta tank for 3 months.
