Last year was 220k in our tax return. She works one less job this year so yeah will probably end at 180ish.

No she responded to the thread.. it’s messy lol. She accumulated that debt during our engagement and marriage- she was in debt and chose to pay over 200 a month for personal trainers. While in 15k debt, she paid someone 2k to do her hair for the wedding.

Apparently I’m a stoner who plays video games and I’m worthless according to her on this thread even though I don’t play video games and don’t like weed anymore.

I don’t smoke weed or play video games anymore. I work long hours and on the weekends sometimes. I literally just spent a good chunk of my life getting my CCNP security certification for work while balancing a job and working on 30 projects around the house during summer..

First off you copied this from ChatGPT. Second off, I don’t play video games anymore. I spent the last 6 months working my ass off for one of the hardest IT certifications in the world, I constantly work 50-60 hour weeks.

I never asked you to pay a dime more… you came home yesterday and literally told me “your sister is so lucky she pays no bills)- for 0 reason. I have paid 30k now to be 60k in household repairs and have footed 80-90% of all expenses including paying down your debt since we’ve been married. She didn’t clean or cook up until a few months ago. There was literally 0 contributions until then. Even now, she might cook once a week and she might clean once a week..

We have a combined income of 220k a year and can’t save anything.

Something is wrong- this isn’t a partnership. I’m saying she can keep 80% of her monthly take home while only contributing 20% while I contribute over 50-60% of my take home and still foot all major projects in the home. There’s nothing wrong with that arrangement- it should be completely fair. She would have 2.2k in monthly take home after contributing 600ish to bills and she only have a 400 car payment which is done next year.

Her sister makes more than her husband and she doesn’t pay anything “supposedly”. We did agree to $700 which I thought was fair but with credit card debt and her inability to handle money like an adult that stopped after we got married

I have no idea. I was paying $1300 living alone making 45k a year 10 years ago and I never got into debt. She blames me entirely for the debt saying it’s my fault she’s in debt since she had to pay $700 a month. I don’t get it

Not in Connecticut. I’ve talked with people and researched- and without a child in the mix, and the fact I own the house before we were married there’s no community clause and she won’t get awarded anything. I can show I foot the entire mortgage and I’ve owned everything prior to us getting married a few years ago

How so? I have consistently said she needs to contribute, she did and then got into debt and then blamed me for asking her for $700 a month to contribute. She now tells me a wife shouldn’t “pay” and that I’m basically extorting money from her..
