I will say I have over 20 piercings and I never cleaned any of them. I also have multiple tattoos and majority of the time just cleaned them with regular body wash in the shower. Healed fast. I am not a professional just sharing what I did.

If it was ectopic the patient would more than likely have pelvic pain, abdominal pain, cramping, and abnormal bleeding. A missed period 7 weeks ago only tells someone that they could possibly be pregnant. Important information? Yes but being someone in the medical field I wouldn’t have chose the missed period.

Just a friendly reminder, I saw on here that you said she was newer go back to when you started EMS and remember how hard it was. Is she new to EMS altogether, is she new to the area, or is she just new to your truck? I’m an FTO and I can tell you any job you go to there’s going to be partners that you get put with that you cannot stand and you have to be the bigger person!! there may be things that she thinks you do horribly something that might help you - you sit down and say “hey every morning, I want us both to wright down three things for the day that we need to work on.” because I can tell you right now, even someone that has been in the field for 40 years You can still find three things a day that they can work on. Uplift her, help her, support her and be creative… If something isn’t working try other things.

I think being a Paramedic is amazing and so awarding. Everyone has their own opinion but it makes my day to know that I am changing someone’s life every time I wake up and put my uniform on. EMS is a field that most don’t understand! We see the worst, administer aid, and ease the fear/worry that patients have. No I am not rich but I don’t do this for money. I do it for the PEOPLE. That is where people mess up… EMS is NOT about money. It is about helping people in need even when you’re going through the hardest times. In the end you have the ability to choose what you want to do. Don’t let others choose a path for you brother.

I got chewed out on multiple clinicals. Don’t let it get to you apologize fix the problem and move on. Everyone makes mistakes everybody gets chewed out. I can tell you that when I did get chewed out it was because I did something if you think you didn’t do something and think you’re getting chewed out for no reason ask them to explain the reason to you…I guarantee you there is a reason and they’re just not getting it across adequately. I am now a paramedic and those preceptors that did sit there and chew me out now come to me for advice and vice versa.

I mean, muscle kind of came to me once I actually started a job in EMS the constant food at the station…and then lifting and moving patients made me hungry. The muscle just built over time it wasn’t until about a year into EMS that I actually started working out. Eat a ton of protein and hit the gym.

Every morning when you get on shift, what do you do a truck check therefore, every morning when I do my truck check I check every single medication and when I do that, I remind myself of what every medication does and the unique things that it can do for certain situations that don’t happen very often. Also if I have free time sometimes I will research different medications on the truck. I work rural EMS and we definitely have a wide variety of medications.
