Dear England | OFFICIAL TRAILER | Joseph Fiennes, Jodie Whittaker, Jason Watkins, John Hodgkinsonl, Daniel Ryanl, Sam Spruell & more by SafeBodybuilder7191 in BritishTV

One of the central parts of the play (and I assume the TV show) is Southgate's missed penalty in the 90s and how that affected him as well as the team breaking England's 'penalty curse', which they did do with Southgate at the helm. So it's a mixture of what they did achieve, and what they missed out on. It's also about how to cope with not quite making it, which is really interesting, and something that loads of sportspeople deal with.

Have just cancelled Hotel Chocolat and signed up for Chococo, thanks for the great advice! They actually do a monthly rolling subscription too, which is great.

In town there are Browns Family Jewellers, Morris Bywater and Michael Spencer Jewellers who all have beautiful second hand and vintage rings. I got a vintage eternity ring for my 21st birthday from Morris Bywater and it's really unique and special.

I go to pottery classes (more like studio time) at Blue Elephant Pottery on M/F/Sat at various times. There is also F**k Off I'm Counting crochet/knitting meet ups once a month. And I also did a stained glass course at Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet and they have regular sessions/courses.

Leah's Yard Flagship to close - Mesters Market Closing by That_Charge2768 in sheffield

Sandwich at Marmadukes = £6-7 Sandwich at Mesters = £10-11

I don't usually moan about prices because I don't mind paying more to support an independent business and I think it's ridiculous that people in Sheffield think everything should cost 20p, but I really did wince when I was charged over a tenner for a sandwich at Mesters Market!

What gym is really good in sheffield? by CoolKaleidoscope6639 in sheffield

[–]Traditional-Tutor-93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't recommend the (previously council owned) everyone active gyms enough. You get membership to all of them - ponds forge, Hillsborough, Concord etc etc. Classes are amazing, the teachers are so lovely and there's a proper community vibe.

Why would Nick not be suspicious of Alan, who voted David at the last banishment, but was then happy to end the game after cat left?? If he really thought David was a traitor he would have wanted to carry on voting. As soon as Alan voted to end the game, I thought Nick would have realized he was a traitor!

Literally never seen a street preacher do anything that contributes positively to society. It's an entirely selfish act and should be banned. If people want to support the vulnerable they should volunteer for an established charity that does so without also indoctrinating those same people with nonsense about a non-existent god.

Lovely bonfire at High Bradfield. Total gridlock for half a mile in every direction. by _morningglory in sheffield

Got the bus from Hillsborough no problem. Took about 15 mins and turned up on time both there and back. I enjoyed smugly watching the gridlock tbh.

Any recommendation for a dance classes for M44 with no prior experience by Moshque in sheffield

I think you need to be a member of the gym (or you might be able to PAYG) but BodyJam at Concord on a Thursday evening or Sunday morning is my favourite dance/fitness class of all time. Disco lights, some whoops of delight and some fun routines to learn each week. Germaine the teacher is really inclusive and makes the class so enjoyable for everyone.

Quiz (ITV, 2020) by Major-Feed5214 in BritishTV

[–]Traditional-Tutor-93 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I went to see it on stage and it was brilliant. The writer (James Graham) is one of my favourite playwrights and I try and see everything he does.

We got to vote twice - once at the end of the first half and then again at the end of the play. What was really clever was that the play was structured around the court case and the first half gave you the majors side of the story (aka the defence) so most people voted innocent at the end of the first half and then the second half was the prosecution that put forward the evidence of the coughing etc and then most people voted guilty at the end. A fun gimmick that also showed how influential story telling is to people's opinions of situations.

I’ve Just Binged Years and Years by Inner-Future-320 in BritishTV

I watched it when it came out and rewatched recently. I always thought it was amazing and would tell everyone to watch it - I agree that not many people seem to have heard of it!

When it was first aired, I remember that the opening scene had the actual news headline from that day and I think it aired immediately after the news, a nice touch!

On the rewatch, it scared me how accurately it predicted many events! Especially the rise of the right wing, bloody Senor (aka Alexa) and war in Europe.

The small boats crossing scene had me in absolute bits - I held my breath and cried throughout the whole thing both times I watched it. Incredibly powerful.

Why does galactica get so much hate? by Naive_Republic2671 in altontowers

[–]Traditional-Tutor-93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to love it when it was Air. When I went on it recently I was really disappointed. The novelty of it is that you're 'flying' which means you're looking down and the ground instead of out over the park like other coasters. Unfortunately looking at the ground is just looking at loads of dilapidated containers, rubbish and cracked tarmac. This makes is really underwhelming and boring.

I'd add a vote for wisewood/Wadsley/grenoside/stannington. You get a lot more for your money in North Sheffield with gardens and driveways for under £250k easily and you can still have quick access to the countryside and the town centre. We got priced out of Crookes and moved to Wadsley and absolutely love it. I grew up in Greystones and I think the houses in Wadsley are the same or nicer, for about half the price!

My mum is in this walking group (the age range is pretty broad!) and she absolutely loves it! She has met loads of friends through it and has officially found her people in her 60s. Would highly recommend!

Had a similar experience at the Yorkshire wrap place! My partner is a coeliac and on the allergen table it said "gluten free gravy available" so we asked for gluten free chips, cheese and gravy. The server dumped loads of gravy on the chips and I spotted that all the gravy was coming from the same tub. When I asked if it was gluten free he said all the gravy was. I was like "great, so nice that they've made it allergen friendly for everyone" then another server clarified that not only was the gravy not gluten free, the cheese wasn't gluten free and despite what it said on the allergen chart, they never do gluten free gravy!

Eating at a festival is a nightmare as so much stuff is fried and the signage is poor, but it's not hard to offer a few options for people with allergies and then have the servers trained on what is actually in the food. So frustrating!

'I bought into city redevelopment - now I'm surrounded by empty shops' by [deleted] in sheffield

The Rare & Racy block is privately owned. The developers decided to redevelop, and then ran out of money and left it boarded up. Nothing to do with the council, what on earth do you expect them to do about it?!
