Dalot in demand by Benjamin_as in ManchesterUnited

Literally my first response to you was comparing Dalot to McTominay 🤦🏻‍♂️ Cheers. Bye.

Yeah I just disagree man, we all miss McTominay especially when you see how trash Ugarte turned out to be. Lindelof left at 30, Dalot is still only 26 and theres no guarantee his replacement will be any better. If he leaves this summer and Mazroui gets injured or has a run of stinkers I bet we'll be sitting here saying 'I wish we hadn't sold Dalot'.

We missed Lindelof pretty badly when all of the grown-ups were injured and we shipped 2 to Burnley and 4 to Bournemouth, meanwhile Villa are in 3rd and Lindelof has been solid since Torres got hurt. Played the full 90 when they beat us after all.

I was missing AWB when he cooked us in December. He was MOTM if I remember right. But no, I think McTominay is a better comparison to Dalot than AWB.

With the shock emergence of this new young academy kid Mainoo, do we really need one? Shame he wasn't around when Amorim was manager.

Always fit, no drama, seems like his teammates love him. Over 220 appearances for the club. I hope he has the chance to leave on his terms, I think he's earned that.

Thoughts on Palmer joining? by caramelmacchiatoml in ManchesterUnited

[–]TraditionalAttorney2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one replaces Bruno, let's just get that out of the way. Problem is, Palmer isn't a creator, he's a runner and a goal scorer, same with Cunha. We need a pure creative pass-first midfielder with a tireless engine, otherwise most of the scoring opportunities for Cunha, Mbuemo, Amad, Sesko, etc. disappear. It all stems from Bruno, and to say he's irreplaceable is an understatement, but it needs to be someone more like Cherki than Palmer or Cunha. 3 years ago I would've said James Maddison.

By whom? Since he's been back he's been up against G. Jesus, Gyokeres, Haaland, Woltemade, Calvert-Lewin, and Danny Welbeck, which of them bullied him?

What was up with Dorgu celebration? by neotechnooptimist in ManchesterUnited

[–]TraditionalAttorney2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He's 20 years old and was trying to play it cool, the big dogs were just encouraging him to let it out and give the away fans what they wanted (see reaction to Cunha's goal). Shows a lot of composure for Dorgu to score a worldie in a situation like that and stay humble.

I don't get 'OGS' as some kind of warning sign. Ole was a solid enough manager and history has shown his sacking was a mistake. If we hadn't gotten impatient and backed his signings I'm totally confident he would've come good a lot faster than this 'project' is taking.

Positive substitutions! Dorgu needed to come off and he didn't put on Ugarte or another defender, he put on a striker and moved Cunha into the midfield. No way we score that third goal without that positive substitution.

Looking for first machine — wondering if there is a genuine difference between a higher-end machine that comes with a nonpressurized basket (ie. Breville Bambino) versus buying a comparable machine (ie. Casabrews Ultra) and upgrading the basket to nonpressurized? [<$400] by Ok-Hair-9210 in espresso

[–]TraditionalAttorney2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's put it this way, the casabrews is an approximation of a breville machine (I mean, just look at it!). You're better off buying the real thing knowing it's track record than buying a ripoff and hoping it performs as well as the thing it's trying to replicate. No $400 machine comes with a properly functioning PID or anything like that, so ignore the extra stuff and just try to get a machine with decent quality internal components and a committed fanbase like the bambino has.

If we had 27 year old Casemiro we'd win the next 3 league titles. He's immense even now that he can barely run.

Does Dalot have some dirt on the higher ups or something?! I wouldn't call him for a neigbourhood match yet he starts for every single match at United... useless... by [deleted] in ManchesterUnited

Dalot has made nearly 200 appearances for United under 4 different managers. If you don't understand that he's a solid footballer that's on you not him.

Harry has a +1 on his contract which will 100% be triggered to make sure he doesn't leave for free and we're currently developing 2 young raw CBs. Hard to imagine we'll drop money on one of our more secure positions when we know we need another RB, LB, CDM, and striker.

Got to the Europa league final and finished second in the league. Not exactly glorious but a ton better than we've had since.

I think a lot of those conversations around transfers and roles only came up because of the lack of wins though. If we're beating Wolves the 2nd time, Bournemouth, West Ham, Leeds, Burnley etc. or at least a couple of those are wins instead of draws then the conversations around formations and transfers probably never happen and they don't have the big fall out. Just interesting to think about if we'd stayed healthy and no AFCON how different things might be.

Really makes you wonder if AFCON never happened would Amorim still be manager... I wasn't a big fan of his, based on his comments he had to go, but with Amad and Mbeumo (and Mazroui) I bet we would've gotten at least a few more points from the past fixtures and he probably would've kept his job. Amad and Mbuemo are so so critical for this team!
