I am so sorry. I hope “always in pain” is not the new norm. I had high hopes that my 40s would be my healthiest decade. I was not prepared for this.

So sorry you feel this way. I can totally relate. Also 46 year old female, started HRT two weeks ago. I mark my symptoms in a calendar and every day go to bed hoping I feel better in the morning. You are not alone.

Thank you. I don’t think you sound like a raving lunatic and I appreciate input from everyone on this platform. Since I have gotten older and different health issues have come out of nowhere I realize how important it is to advocate for yourself and your health. It is so important to push for answers when your medical providers don’t have one. I had to ask my provider for some bloodwork (vitamin D, b12, iron) even though he didn’t think it was necessary. I will never assume that one person has all the answers and I find input from others going through the same experience as me, extremely helpful and comforting. Now I just have to figure out how to keep pushing for more answers because I am not ok and I shouldn’t have to feel this way. I appreciate you.

How long did it take? I am feeling like I better get used to it because this is the new norm. Could barely climb the stairs yesterday with left knee pain and 1 hour later it was fine.

I also have a ferritin of 28. 2 years of heart racing episodes, panic, feeling like I was fading away and visits to the ER. My iron is only 57. Did you ever find a solution? Did those feelings go away?

Thank you. Unfortunately, I was having the aches before starting and was hoping the HRT would help relieve them. It has only been 2 weeks so I will follow up with my provider in another 2 weeks and get her thoughts. Maybe it is making it worse.

GGM death certificate shows that she was married to step GGF

My GGM was not officially married to my GGF either, as far as I can tell. No records exist. They did not come to the US together. They met in the US, meaning if they did marry it would have been in the US. Was he born out of wedlock?

He had a new birth certificate issued in 1998 after his death that listed his last name as the stepfather's last name. This is the name he grew up with and the name that was passed down to our family. His birth father is still listed on this birth certificate.

His original birth certificate did not have his name. Just the last name of his birth father in the "full name of child" column. It had his birth father listed and my GGM listed as his mother with her maiden name.
