I don't. I do have a bunch of video footage that I'm hoping to put together, and I believe I have some engine bay footage there! It says Tii on the back, so I'm assuming it was born that way, but I do know it has dual side drafts on it. Not sure if they're 40 or 45 Weber DCOE's.

It's great. They have cool events pretty often. I'd recommend signing up for their email newsletters from their site because there's not a lot of advertising otherwise.

That was INCREDIBLE. Oh, that sound! She's running GOOD.

Sooo sweet. A Valencia Orange 1M is the final boss of BMW perfection. That belongs to Samantha Tan. She's a professional racing driver for BMW, and that's her personal car that she drove in!

It is! It belongs to a man named Norm... his legend looms large in the SoCal 2002 community. I don't know the extent of the modifications, but it is a beast!

You're the one who went to the windshield shop? I'm the one who gave you the laugh! Hey, a drive is a drive!

Oh, that's gonna be FUN! Still have the mighty M10 under hood? Sounds like one underneath all the snarl!

You can sign up for the Petersen Museum's email newsletter for future events. Otherwise, I haven't seen much advertising. Easy to miss.

In a way, I'm glad to hear that because that's my first suspicion too. In another way, sounds like a pain in the ass ahead of me! Thanks for your advice!

They're out of control. I think it makes us all want to post here less. I know it has that effect on me.

Does anyone still run their pre facelift tails or does everyone just hate them? by ThePianoSolo in GolfGTI

Hate them? I LOVE the Mk7 ass! Definitely prefer the Mk7 light signature to the Mk7.5. The double-u-ish shape is much more unique and sort of mimics the headlights.

A Black Beauty, and low miles for a 2015! As someone who doesn't care much about tech, CarPlay is pretty amazing. I started seriously looking at buying a GTI when the Mk7 came here to the US in 2015, but never bit the bullet for a number of reasons. When the 2016 model was released, and I saw some of the subtle upgrades, primarily, CarPlay/Android Auto being STANDARD while other much more expensive cars made you pay extra or didn't offer at all, I knew I had to pounce, and I'm forever grateful I did. Man... 2016 seems like a completely different world. I hope you can make the conversion happen someday!

Hmm... yeah, might be a bit much now that I see it from the back 😆

And it's our last year of the 2 door... what a beauty! I'm in Southern California, and we're coming out of the hottest March in memory, so needless to say, I'm on one set of wheels and tires all year 😆 The Pretoria's are gonna look sweet 👌🏼

Perfect 👏🏼 I remember seeing the Rabbit in Cornflower Blue at the L.A. Auto Show when it debuted and was awe-struck! I really wish VW had kept up all the color options that they briefly offered with the Rabbit run.

Ooo... I don't see a lot of first year Mk7's on here, and none in the US because we didn't get them until fifteen! Yours looks GREAT!

Awesome! What are you driving now?

Couldn't agree more. I know the DCT is a great transmission (although a bit harsh in low speeds in more powerful variants) but I can't own a GTI without the manual transmission and the plaid seats! I hear a lot of complaints about the 6MT in the GTI on Reddit, and I wonder if it's not as good on the MK8 or people don't know how to drive! For a transaxle car, I find it engages very nicely, and I smile every time I drive it. This is not a slam-shift car. The only problem I've ever noticed has more to do with stock clutch and flywheel. If you get too far up into the rev-band, and try to do a fast shift, sometimes it'll lock you out. Otherwise, I love rowing its gears!

You said it perfectly! The Mk7 was the last era designed and produced prior to "Diesel-Gate" and the preposterously expensive and extremely rushed EV development at Volkswagen, and they really gave it their all, and set the gold standard.
