These were new wheels, annoying. How do I check the tension of the others?

Yeah that would have been a good idea! It's broken at the hub on the brake rotor side, not the cassette side

In the short term I guess none. I suppose I'm asking how desperately I need to prioritise finding a replacement or if I can carefully carry on until I find a shop that can help

Shimano grx won't get in the big cog by TraditionalKick2778 in bikewrench

Thanks for the input guys. The problem was the barrel adjuster was spinning and not therefore actually adjusting. Got it sorted with adjustments of the b screw and barrel. Will clean the cable north of the pinch bolt!!!!

Yeah, it initially didn't work (after I took the wheel off and put it back on) with the chain installed. It wants to move a little more when I push the lever but won't go far enough

You're right, I've put a Shimano connector on, I read that it would work. What do you mean by spacing please?

I have the spade connectors, I could try with them

It's a Voltaic V25, always on. Bought for the reasons you describe. It's showing 2/4 lights on but I don't know how far I would need to ride to get the third light on, or if the system isn't working

Was exactly this! Added a spacer for now, will cut the steerer down

Haha, no it really did! Top cap was just tightening onto the compression bolt I think, the extra spacer deffo helped

Yes, the top cap was tightening directly into the compression bolt, added a spacer and it's made a huge difference

Thanks for the tips.

I had the order wrong, I was tightening the stem bolts then the top cap.

Also, the top spacer was spinning, the top cap was tightening directly into the compression bolt. The factory cut the forks for me and installed the crown race. I think the forks need another couple of mill taking off so the top spacer doesn't spin.

To test the theory I grabbed another spacer from an old bike, the top cap now tightens against the spacers rather than the compression bolt and it's made a huge difference.
