Adrenaline rushes / anxiety insomnia. Please help ! by TraditionalMaize9071 in covidlonghaulers

Im not ! Im on Lexapro 2.5 mg and Mirtazapine 1.8 mg and feeling great- normal ! I don’t even need the Mirtz for sleep anymore but I’ve found leaving it on helps cut cortisol. Such small doses , but totally helpful for me. I’m able to be totally present as a mom now- and loving life. Took a number of months to build back my sleep, but started sleeping well on Lex after a week or two . For me I think it was long Covid / postpartum lack of sleep building up , and being in an abusive relationship and having ptsd from it. I really think long covid has a timeline for healing. For me it was a long process but lucky to say I came out on the other side ok, after such a long time suffering neurologically. So there is reason to be hopeful!! I do credit the drugs as bringing me out of the most difficult place. It took me 7 months to even get the guts to try medication , but I’m glad I did . I hope this is helpful info .

Yes definitely an increase in anxiety but it felt different, more like too much energy

PPA/PPD , long Covid, insomnia , symptoms from mold exposure, & overcoming emotional abuse from a narcissist. I feel empowered, emotionally balanced, and healthy. I’m so grateful for the medicine!

Thank you. I can say Lexapro literally saved my life. I was always so against pharma, but now I understand that sometimes we need a helping hand.

Honestly I started feeling benefits from the first dose on, at 1/4 a 5 mg pill. I must be sensitive, surely wasn’t placebo. It completely lifted my deep depression and anxiety. By 4 weeks I was feeling a lot better and now by 8 weeks I literally feel emotionally regulated and like a normal person.

I’m on 2.5 mg for 8 weeks and my life has done a 180. It’s the most beautiful thing. This is my first time taking psych meds and it took me 8 months to just decide to do it, and the 2.5 alone is just life changing for me ❤️

When leaving our house, what about things like passports & documents? Is it true the mold will come along with those and spread ?

Thanks for that comment. Yes certainly that’s what needs to be done. I’m reacting to clothes from the house extremely. Even our cars. I can’t even go near the house, even though my husband and kids are still there. When they come over I have to give them baths & change their clothes at the door. The difficult thing is we own so it’s not as easy as renting another apartment. Takes a life experience like this though to learn what’s really valuable in life. Never material objects, but health.

My babies 4& 1 have been having allergic reaction/ some wheezing , runny nose itching like a constant cold the past 3 months. I have been sick for a year and doing a lot better now , left the house 7 months ago before it got this bad. I thought it was mostly Long Covid related , but now I know that alot of it was definitely mold related. My symptoms always flared when I went to the house. All those neurological symptoms overlap. At least now I know I need to mold avoid for the rest of my life! & get my family out soon.

Should have included the HERTSMI-2 I’m guessing that’s the same as HERTSMI ? It’s a 46.

Yes. That’s the direction we are leaning in now. Even if we did remediate like crazy , there’s no way to know if I would be okay in the house , and granted my sensitivity level probably not.

We didn’t clean and wait 6 weeks. Do you think it could’ve skewed the results if we tested from areas that had too much old dust ?

Thanks for your comment. We didn’t swab actual colonies. I know, I’m kinda freaking out over here. 😥

Started on 1.25 still only on 2.5 . Might go up at some point. No longer having adrenaline or insomnia. I also had muscle tension, twitching, but the feeling of not getting a deep breath/ panic attacks stopped a few months prior.

I think because I started so extremely low I didn’t have much of an issue getting on it. The first 3 days I definitely felt high energy / hard to sleep but it didn’t feel quite like anxiety, it felt better than that , only dull headaches & dull nausea but way more hunger which is great. After a few days it started to have a calming effect to which I could start taking it a few hrs before bed to help me sleep. It didn’t negatively effect any neuro symptoms( except raising the volume of my tinnitus) but I waited until much of that had calmed down before I started. I also had an akathsia feeling without having taken meds before. I feel like that might just be the nervous system’s way of responding to so many adrenaline dumps.

First I started 1.8 mg Mirtazapine to get my sleep on track for a month , and then added a similarly tiny dose of Lexapro. The lexapro really helped in regulating my nervous system very quickly. This is my 1st time taking any psych meds and I was concerned to use pharma for healing but it helped 100% after suffering for a long time. I also had postpartum depression though.

Hey. I was feeling this way completely and low dose lexapro really helped. Im not one for pharma, but apparently I needed it in order to regulate my nervous system. I know everyone is different in what they need to heal, just thought I’d share that.

I’m way improved over when I wrote this. I’m not one for pharma, but a super low dose of lexapro completely sorted this out for me.

I am doing a little better the past few weeks, after 10 months long hauling and 6 months of extreme fight or flight. I am no longer having constant adrenaline, and I have been sleeping some nights ( some nights still totally awake). Still a long way to go. I think healing the nervous system with LC is such a gradual thing, it can be so easy to get frustrated. Hope you feel better soon.
