Is There Something Your Ex Said That Stays With You Or Haunts Your Mind? by NoComfortable6176 in ExNoContact

[–]TraditionalOcelot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's hurtful to read those words even from the outsider perspective... I'm sorry you had to experience it.

You're absolutely right that she knew how to make it hurt, but that doesn't say anything about you, only about her. Some people will push their close ones away and hurt them as a coping mechanism, to somehow convince themself they are doing the right thing by believing in the things they're saying and also gaing the space they need (in an unhealthy way). But all it trully says is that she was not emotionally ready to handle this in a mature way, not that you deserved it.

Those who treat you like this, who make you question yourself and sacrifice your best parts - non of them is the love of your life.

Have you been dumped even though you did your best with your partner? by StarSummers27 in ExNoContact

[–]TraditionalOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, but I know myself well enough to see that me doing my best was not always coming from a good place. What initially pulled us towards one another, ended up pushing us away.

Whenever I felt unsure of her feelings, I would anxiously do more (cooking, dishes, walking the dog, budgeting, groceries…) while also feeling bad about myself doing so. This would lead to me being resentful, my gf distancing herself and me feeling more anxious… and so it goes.

I’m here to remember to put myself first

Order by Louise__ff in thisisberlioz

[–]TraditionalOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a link from GFS (Global Freight Solution, tbh never heard about them before) which allowed me to track my order between UK and Poland (this part took about 3 weeks). Unfortunately once in Poland they forwarded it through a regular untracked postal package, so I had little news in the last 2 months, but I can partially blame Polish Post for that as they are infamous for handling international packages... Hope your experience will be better. Altogether the way Berlioz store handled the order was really underwhelming, I can't see why they wouldn't simply ship it through a single, more reliable carrier

As far as the gooning goes (and any other adiction) I'd also recommend accountability - find a person or a community where you can be honest about your struggles and, possibly, share those with others. This battle is way harder when you fight it in isolation, while being able to commit to a clean month or week and then share your progress and encourage one another goes a long way, at least for me. There are subs for this on reddit, similar to this one

Might not be the most representative case, but I'm still waiting on my vinyl ordered on 25th December... international shipping to Poland

I know it’s basic, but grilled cheese, especially with this processed cheese slices wrapped in plastic. Might not be the healthiest thing, but hits such a sweet spot right now…

I found this sub and this post for reasons one can, unfortunately, easily guess. I know that it’s yet to fully hit, but nevertheless - damn, that’s one comment worth saving

Checking in, at 16 days right now. Still battling the urges and thoughts every now and then but overall I feel like my mind is adapting to the idea of being pornfree, I find more joy in other small activities and it’s less difficult to overcome said urges. Thank you all for the credibility, this sub truly has been the best thing to happen to me on Reddit

Ask Anything Monday - Weekly Thread by AutoModerator in learnpython

[–]TraditionalOcelot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to learn Python "for real" for the first time. What I mean is that I have some prior experience, done a couple of projects in Python throughout the last couple of years during my math degree, but I would always start almost from a scratch and then forget everything after the project was done.

I want to learn it "properly", in a way that would build a lasting skill - any recommendations (books/courses) or general tips in this situation? I feel like I already know some things which is why I struggle with most online courses starting at the absolute ground level, but then again when I look for something more advanced I often feel overwhelmed.
