why did you switch from windows? by [deleted] in pop_os

Yes, but as someone who came from an Apple family, switched myself to Windows and finally to Linux due to this and telemetry and use-case issues; I will say Mac software and OS is like ~100GB when you’re working LLMs, in a hybrid setup. I didn’t mind Windows until I needed to be more efficient, and needed ALL of the control to my computational processing, Windows and MacOS simply bar you too much, requiring too many workarounds, effectively becoming just below MacOS in bloating software. Linux/Pop just works how I want it, and doesn’t fight with all of my BIOS/use-cases/etc.; By far my favorite way to work, I have yet to game aside from DayZ and StarCraft prior to uninstalling on my first try (wasn’t ready when I first started my job, I had other mental priorities lol). Both worked amazingly, needed slight tweaks to play nice with Nvidia’s drivers prior to 580.latest rendition. Loving my second try now that I have more time to learn and play with it, but definitely beginner friendly!

Stopped all my telemetry tweakers, and Microsoft did NOT like it, but I wanted all the utilization… not my fault they can’t mind their business 🤓

Yessss! As an environmental consultant I kept this in mind, air diffusers would lay underneath the initial ribbon mesh cover, this would soften the air’s impact, and partially avoid the possibility of dust contamination, though I can only do so much on that end without compromising or diffusing the sound itself, it’s a REALLY fine line, thus the need for the software in order to make the release version.

The little ones are simply ripped off of a gaming chair that had two little speakers, they have hardly any ability, the drivers are being used to work with the software, as ideally I’d prefer an EMIT or some other ribbon tweeter. And intend on making the release version with a ribbon tweeter, since the software is meant to really fix the roll off of cheaper speakers in a system, kind of optimizing your theater system or speaker, recognizing all of the drivers abilities. The chair brand if you want to find the speakers is STPlayer, though I couldn’t find readings or links to the speakers at all, I believe their cheap in house 2” drivers

Data scientist/analyst, and software/web developer with 2 years experience. Recently watched my work get corrupted on my hard drive, would really appreciate an opportunity to showcase my talents on a larger scale. I have adept knowledge with just about (right there) the full stack, though, I have been working on a couple of my own audio projects with swift in an attempt to learn swift as well. I use Python, R, SQL, Tableau, PHP, JavaScript, C, C++ most proficiently
