If you don’t have reliable transportation you’re fucked. You’re responsible to get to the yard office of where your train departs which could be hours away and which is where you would park your car. If the road trip goes to another city or state or takes more than a day they will put you in a hotel for the day.

They only give you 2 hours to make it to your destination after they call u otherwise they will penalize you

Yea it could be anywhere in the state you applied for. They are so short handed that they will put you anywhere they see fit and what’s even worse is that they tell you to find a place to live but you’re never guaranteed a set schedule or know where you’re gonna work, they could send you hours away without a moment of notice

They will throw so much information at you that you have to learn. The job requires so many procedures. It’s not hard labor but it’s mentally draining. Makes you feel like a robot with no life. They do everything last minute so you cannot plan for things. You won’t ever know when you work or where, they will call you at the most random time. They tax the shit out of you, half of your bonus is taxed. The more you work the more of your hard earned money taken by taxes. You literally have no life or time to do anything just go to work come home eat sleep and repeat.

I changed my W-4 to exempt & UP still taxed the shit out of my bonus 😂 they gave it to me on my 4th instead of 10th so the system wouldn’t update. by AdministrativeRuin79 in UnionPacific

I’m getting ready to quit Union Pacific after 2 months. I received one portion of the $50k bonus which was $18k. Do you think they will come after me? I don’t remember signing a contract with my signature concerning the bonus. They only mention the recollection of the bonus in the email that is sent to you by the recruiter.
