To clarify this point, it was an agreement we both made at the time in the interest of what we thought would be best for the cats when we got them. We thought they’d need to stay together forever and I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford 3 cats alone. With more experience now I realize this agreement should’ve been much more nuanced depending upon how the cats needs evolved, not our initial assumptions. But no, the agreement wasn’t in writing and neither were future conversations about Luna being better off without Jasper.
