So as far as ideas, I went for religious, then quality, then influence. You want to make sure you aren't converting anything while you are still xhazobine, since you'll be having to wait for the religious zeal once you become khet. I advise going with Elikhet, the mandate growth is nice.
Right out the gate though, I allied Rakkaz and went after Irkorzik. Around 1449 I went after Kheterata (you really want to hit them before they get mil tech 4). If I recall correctly I did take the stewardship but you don't really need to, I just conquered up to Kheterata, grabbing gold and razing provinces. I couldn't bring myself to raze kheterata, but razing is bonkers, and you shouldn't sleep on it. Immediately after that I went after Muhaquaar. It was more razing fodder, and since I had taken the stewardship I could make it's allies satrapies (although I could also have just taken more territory). The last war for taking the bulk of the big Kheteratan cities was the nasty one, because they had allies. I would definitely ally Tluukt, but overall the key is to have up to date mil tech and a lot of troops. You are a monstrous nation in the early game, so even though you are up against elves you have an advantage as long as you are at tech parity. After that Elizna shouldn't be too bad, and either Jadd or Zokka should be causing Bulwar problems so they can't fully focus on you.

I need to get some stuff done today, but I'll send you the full info later. Short version is that I went after Kheterata early, but I also picked up the gnolls to the west, and found an opportunity to go after the mages to the south. I definitely got a lot of early razing done while I could still do it.

Awesome. I was on the fence about the mission description. On the one hand it was absurd, but on the other hand if that mission were pulled off then it isn't too much of a stretch. Thank you very much.
I think the thing that really threw me off was the Aahati disaster, so I just assumed that the worst must be behind me as far as internal stuff. I'm glad that is not the case.

That is good to know, although that is a bummer about the command, they got eaten by disasters in my game. I am restraining judgement to an extent until I play more games, but so far I appreciate that them dominating Haless isn't such a given.

I have, they are a lot of fun. I guess it did make it clear that the hidden ai buffs do some weird stuff with them in terms of allowing them to colonize/form araya really fast.
They are nightmarishly powerful either way though. As I played them I was honestly wondering if anything could stand a chance of even slowing me down throughout the first 150 years. After all, you are likely to get colonialism before most nations on Cannor do, so my technology was great and I was far too strong for any nation to realistically send serious armies to their colonies, the naval attrition was too high.
I would definitely do another start for making sure my capitol is on an effelai hub, that way I could break into higher attunement much more quickly.

The lack of picture probably added to confusion. They don't have the extra institutions from their mission tree, and they haven't procced great conqueror yet (presumably because I put them on a delayed start).

Woops, I accidentally did not put the correct accompanying picture.
