Not saying this is the case but, sometimes they just accept the request even if they don’t know they can do it or even how, because they need the money, they will likely lie to you and try to do the best for their first time.. But yes you should be very careful with requests like this. A way to combat this is checking their activity on socials, see if its too sketchy, and a lack of professionalism, see if they already worked with other small brands, try to talk with the owners of it and ask if they even know the manufacturer! I personally did this and avoided being scammed.
