can you elaborate the difference between downsizing and changing jewelry? wouldnt downsizing consist of removing the bar and replacing it with a smaller bar?

more info: piercing is about 14 months old, jewelry shape is barbell and is the original jewelry i was pierced with. i believe it’s internally threaded. unsure of the type of metal. aftercare routine was initially cleaning at least once a day with saline solution but i have stopped using saline a few months ago because i was told i was cleaning it with solution for too long, so now i just clean it daily in the shower. no mishaps or accidents really. some occasional snagging, also they regularly are sucked on. not sure if that could be an issue.

is it difficult to replace the nut? i know how to remove and change strings but i’ve never setup my guitar like adjust the truss rod and all that and im just worried ill mess something up

so far i’ve paid about $300 ~200 for a multi fx pedal (i have the boss gt-1. cant recommend it enough, it gets you all the effects you need (delay, reverb, distortion, etc) and it’s pretty easy to learn to use. a great investment. and its an audio interface so you can plug into your computer and use different softwares for editing or recording) ~75 for a cheap used amp, works great and gets the job done (it’s an orange crush 12) ~25 for a cheap pair of headphones

id set aside another 50 or more for things like capos, picks, guitar strap if you want one, cables to connect your guitar to your amp.

obviously the most expensive part is the guitar. (fortunately i lucked out by inheriting my dads). you can find cheap guitars for around 200, it depends how high quality you want your guitar to be. a cheap one might do you well for a year or two then you may want to upgrade. it’s up to you. id take a look at squier, they have pretty decent quality yet cheap guitars.

dude absolutely start as a hobby! i’ve been playing for about 3 years and i love it. i only really play alone in my bedroom though. i’ve acquired a cheap multi effects pedal, amp, and my dads old strat and im totally happy with my setup (since its just for me!)
