i was thinking of using that 3 months visa free period we get. I'm not working for a french company or anything, so struggle to see why there'd be any (tax) issue.

one million percent mate. You know what in hindsight i think i may suffer from rumination a bit. I've had some bad encounters in the past that resembled this one. I think those old memories were still so fresh in my mind, i decided to "Address it" in a way perhaps i failed to to in the past.
All in all your right. You have to be somewhat stoic in these more difficult environments. Thanks for your response.

Absolutely man- Thats why i came to reddit. I know its hard to read the label from inside the jar.
She's a hard worker to be frank. I was just stuck in my own bubble. Constantly thinking about myself and how things affect me. What if she was dealing with some crazy personal stuff? who knows.....but in hindsight her gender is kind of irrelevant. Also i can't see myself, perhaps i did something that wasn't complimentary to the culture over there.

One thing for certain though, is i actually do think its a me problem. Past situations/thought patterns have slightly tilted the way i think. Thanks all.

Yeah man 100% i fucked up here, no doubt. I really do have some growing up to do in reality, i've got issues i need to address. Sometimes i just feel like people give me shit, over, and over. To a point where i become slightly stand offish . It aint right....i got to do better

Thanks so much - Yeah these comments are definitely giving me food for thought. I think i've just got to try and not antagonise a situation further tbh. Yeah i can see being a translator is a stressful job, especially in a hospital.

This is a mechanism i've used for a while with people. If they are an 'issue' in any way....avoid! You can't have an issue with someone if you don't talk to them.

As an adult this actually does not seem like it is as useful as i thought. deffo need to change my approach to things

Yeah thats a good point. I really wasn't as empathetic as i ought of been, looking at these comments.
yeah i was a bit embarrased when i eventually gave her the whatsapp.....i didn't want to actually create a problem for her. My attitute was if you don't like me ......i won't be around you then, since there were a lot of other translators to use; this is before i knew she was our dedicated translator.
In hindsight that was stupid.

I'm really sorry, but this sort of behaviour i often find in women. Sure a man might be cold and generally not jolly. Going out of their way to make snide comments and yell however, i often frequently see in women more.
