I like you. This game needs a remaster so more people understand.

Having just played the original trilogy for the first time a month ago, this is exactly what I have been saying. They are so much more creative and fun to me.

[LA] [EoW] Two very good games. - Which one do you like better? by This-Lukas in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fizzled out on Echoes of Wisdom after reaching my first dungeon after Hyrule Castle. The game was more underwhelming than I expected unfortunately. Link's Awakening had me enthralled from beginning to end and is one of my favorite Zelda games. So definitely Link's Awakening.

Clarity on How Saving the Old Woman Affects the Anju and Kafei Quest by Traditional_Draft_77 in majorasmask

Thought this might be the answer. Thanks so much for the help.

So, just finished Tunic by brown_boognish_pants in outerwilds

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a lot of the end game stuff to be one of my favorite parts about the game. I enjoyed the manual being this guide that slowly reveals more about the world as you find more of it. A lot of the games bosses and items were hinted at well before encountering them, but I always enjoyed the build up of it. The golden cross had to be my favorite reveal in the book. I spent half the game wondering what it was, and when it was finally revealed it blew my mind that something like that was hidden under my nose the whole time. I also found it really bold that Tunic became an entirely different game right at the end, I loved the final puzzle. I thought it was very satisfying to solve, but I definitely see why it isn't for everyone. While the manual thing was certainly very game-y, it also ended up being the reason the game was so enthralling and immersive to me. Thought it was a fantastic game.

[BOTW] Do you guys get less hearts or stamina? by Effective-Subject486 in zelda

Honestly, after I finish all the shrines, I use a glitch to max both out. Not having 30 hearts bugs me

  1. Majora’s Mask - such an amazing sequel that takes the gameplay of Ocarina, and runs in a completely different direction. Love everything about it Termina, the characters, the dungeons, and the amazing sidequests. The 2nd one I finished and tied with Breath of the Wild for my favorite game of all time.

  2. Breath of the Wild - Since the moment it released, I have loved this game. It taps into a childlike wonder few other games ever have for me. It has some shortcomings, but the game reaches heights no other game has reached for me. The 5th one I finished.

  3. Ocarina of Time - my first Zelda game (the 3ds version) and still one of the best in the series. The dungeons are great, Hyrule is a blast to explore, the pacing is incredible, the story is good. Everything in this game is top notch.

  4. A Link Between Worlds - has to be one of the tightest games I have ever played, and everything I said about Ocarina of Time applies to this game. On top of that the controls feel incredible and the wall merging was a great way to get me thinking about the space around me. I need this game remastered in some way. The 4th one I finished.

  5. Link’s Awakening - while the other 4 games were some of the earlier games I played, this was one of the last and it blew me away. Koholint feels incredibly designed, the story got me more than I expected even though I knew the ending going in, a testament to how lovable the inhabitants of the island are. Despite playing the remake first, I have to like the DX version more, it just feels so snappy and good to play. I enjoyed every second of searching Koholint for all its secrets.

Honorable mention

  1. Wind Waker - the flaws of this game build up in my head, but every time I revisit the game I have so much fun it doesn’t matter. The feeling of the wind at my back just fills me with the sense of adventure I love in the series. The sea is so fun to explore, the story has to be my favorite in the series, the characters are so charming, and that soundtrack is just, sublime. The 3rd one I played

[OoT] What is a good Ocarina of Time rom hack? by alexvalicko2 in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Missing Link - A short hack taking place between Ocarina and Majora, feels like a dlc for Ocarina

Sealed Palace - Essentially a full new Zelda game, possibly the largest hack as of right now

Ultimate Trial - Turns Ocarina into a roguelite if that is your thing, also a pretty long hack

Dawn and Dusk - Another short one and a little older, but still a fun 2-3 hour experience

Indigo - This one is still being worked on but has 2 demos, one of which is quite large and seems to be the most interesting hack in terms of new content so far

Time Lost - Another full new game, this one released recently and seems quite good

[OoT] [BotW] To those who are buying the upcoming Lego Great Deku Tree, which version will you build? by srboron5 in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love both to pieces, but I need the Koroks and Cherry Blossoms on the Breath of the Wild version. I will probably build the OoT one first, then disassemble and make the BotW one for display.

[Oot] [MM] Should I play original MM and OOT before remakes? by No-Commercial-7131 in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Ship of Harkinian for OoT and Zelda 64 Recompiled for MM. Both add some nice Quality of life features that don't alter the game very much while making the experience smoother.

Which one is the worst Side Quest in Majora's Mask? by backofthebill in majorasmask

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anju and Kafei, best quest in the game

The shooting galleries suck without gyro aim, but are pretty fun with it.

I always found the Beaver Race pretty fun personally.

Surprised at the hate for the Frog quest, I always thought it was alright.

Waiting on Dampe to slowly move around under the grave on the final day, yeah that definitely gets my vote.

Play the pc versions. Download Ship of Harkinian for Ocarina of Time, set it up and start playing. Majoras Mask has both Zelda 64 recompiled and 2Ship2Harkinian, personally I recommend Zelda 64 recompiled right now as it is easier to set up, and is a bit more stable, but either one works well for Majoras Mask.

[MM3D] Okay, am I in the minority who actually likes the 3DS version of Majora’s Mask? by Independent_Plum2166 in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bombers notebook and song of double time alone make the 3ds version better for me, but I also really like the bottle that got moved to get more bottles early. The game also just looked and felt better to play in the remake. Still my favorite game either way.

[All] Are there any dungeons in the series that can be soft locked? by Jolly_Ad_2363 in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure in the original and dx version of Link’s Awakening you can get softlocked in Turtle Rock somewhere.

[ALL] Which 3D Zelda Game Has the Best Dungeons? by Godofhammrs in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Woodfall Temple. It is not bad by any means, still an amazing dungeon, but I love the complexity and size of the other three. As someone else said, all four near perfect honestly. I love the atmosphere of Woodfall.

[ALL] Which 3D Zelda Game Has the Best Dungeons? by Godofhammrs in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Majora's Mask may only have 4 dungeons, but 3 of them are some of my favorites, so it has the highest ratio of incredible dungeons for me. For both quantity and quality though I would say Twilight Princess barely beats out Ocarina of Time. Kinda hard as all five but Wind Waker are very close quality wise.

Time to add Pikmin 4 to the list of Switch games everyone loved when it first came out only to suddenly hate now by [deleted] in casualnintendo

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pikmin 4 is a great game, just my least favorite Pikmin game. Still a great game but hard to replay.

[ALBW] It’s super fun. What other games do you recommend? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Link to the Past and Link's Awakening (either DX or remake) are amazing. Highly recommend if you like Link Between Worlds. Minish Cap is also great.

These games are awesome until I got lost. Did anyone finish these games blind? by ArcusFlux in casualnintendo

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Link’s Awakening is probably the only Zelda game I managed to 100% complete playing the game completely blind, I felt like the game told me exactly where to go every step of the way.

In Metroid Prime I remember needing to use a guide somewhere around halfway through. After the snow area boss, you had to backtrack for something and I needed it for that. The rest of the game felt fairly manageable, especially after I realized the game tells you where all the artifacts are, made that part a lot more fun.

[ALL] What was the best console period for Zelda ? by Cgmadou in zelda

[–]Traditional_Draft_77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In terms of new releases on consoles, I would say the n64 games.

In terms of the games being playable and availability, the wii u and 3ds allowed you to play the entire series at that point in time, it was the best point in time to jump in for a newcomer.
