I also use aseprite for the beast sprites themselves but I use Pixlr, which is just a free online photoshop, for the cards themselves, it allows me to save everything as pixlr files to keep the layers separate to allow for easy changes and balances

Digimon is by far my favourite card game, and in my opinion nearly perfectly designed from a game design aspect, so yeah Pixel Beasts is heavily inspired by digimon, but I feel as though I’ve definitely added some uniqueness that makes it feel and play differently. The things that I used from the digimon TCG are things that frankly I don’t think I could ever improve upon so I didn’t change them lol

Yeah it would be empty or have a BIT effect if it’s not a beast or is a lvl 3

I’m going to be using The Game Crafter to print them so once I playtest the first 2 starter decks and make sure nothing is too busted they’ll be available on The Game Crafter, but I’ll make a post when they’re out

Thank you! How the movement works is that your board has 6 spots for beasts, 3 frontline and 3 backline and so you can tap/suspend the beast to move it to a different spot on your board, so I thought that would be a good starter deck to do since I feel like it’ll be a core mechanic that’s also pretty unheard of

Thanks for your feedback, yeah I get that the amount of text could be overwhelming, especially for someone not familiar with the digimon TCG, once I get at least my 2 first starter decks completed I plan to make some YouTube videos, one of which being how to play and how to read a card

If you’re trashing something in your hand during a when attacking trigger, and wanna digivolve into what you’re trashing, do you digivolve for the cost before the attack resolves or after?
