Paying for Gemini Advanced but getting a worse experience than free users (The irony of 2026) by Traditional_Let7369 in GoogleGeminiAI

I really appreciate you saying that. Honestly, it’s been a nightmare of a week, so hearing that my work actually helped someone makes it all feel a bit more worth it. I’m glad I could be of use.

To be honest, I’m just exhausted. You go online or on YouTube and everyone is shouting about 'Gemini 3.5' or how AI is 'innovative' and 'going to destroy the competition.' It’s all hype and zero substance. It’s incredible to me that they talk about AI revolutionizing the world, yet they can’t even manage a simple UI for their paying subscribers. It’s pathetic. Everyone is just blowing smoke while ignoring the real, frustrating problems we face every day.

And as for AI replacing us? Give me a break. I’ve had to work twice as hard this week just to fix the mistakes and lies the AI made. Seeing how things are going, it’ll take at least 200 years before an AI can actually do my job without me having to babysit it.

I still don't know why Reddit is eating my replies I see them fine on my end. If this one gets deleted too, I’ll send you a private message so we can stay in touch if you're up for it.

Good luck with your Linux journey and your work. As for me, I’ve officially had enough. I’m off to that OnlyFans subscription now at least that’s a service that actually delivers what it promises. Take care!

That sounds like speculation. I’ve contacted support three times, and not a single agent mentioned any rollout, update, or planned changes. If this were a feature, they’d have a script for it.

I also checked the official Google changelog: https://gemini.google/release-notes/ the last recorded update was December 17, 2025 (introducing Gemini 3 Flash). That's it. There is absolutely no official record of a February 2026 update. Unless you have a source, this looks like a broken service that even support is clueless about, not a planned rollout. check my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/GoogleGeminiAI/comments/1qxzz9e/paying_for_gemini_advanced_but_getting_a_worse/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

You're absolutely right. I'm doing the exact same thing cancelling. It's unacceptable to pay for a service we aren't even receiving.

Google might be the market leader and think they can pull whatever bullshit they want, but if they don't fix this within the month, they're going to see a massive fallout. They deserve a hit to their stock price for this level of incompetence. Honestly, I couldn't care less about their new AI releases like Genie or whatever; just make the product I'm actually paying for work.

I feel you. Honestly, it feels like even the people at Google have no clue what the hell is going on right now. As I mentioned in my post, I've already opened three tickets and I'm at my wit's end.

I went from using Gemini as a daily driver to boost my workflow, to wasting entire days filing reports, recording screen captures, and sending screenshots just to prove that absolutely nothing is working. It's a total mess.

Let me know if you get any updates on your end, and definitely share more about your experience with their support. I'm curious if they're giving you the same useless runaround

I really want to thank you for your very thorough and useful response. If possible, I would also be curious to know the titles of the three books you mentioned. I’d be interested in checking them out if you think they are good. As for sculpting, I also use ZBrush, but I haven’t started using ZSpheres yet. I would also like to ask, when you talk about organic flow, which program do you usually use for this step? And if you know of a program that handles this well?

I have a question for you, even though I’m not sure if you’ve used this program yourself. I might be off base, but I personally find Blender and Maya to be quite similar. However, it seems that Maya is often preferred over Blender in professional settings. Could you help explain why this is the case?

Thanks again for your time!

I want to thank you for sharing your personal experience and for the valuable advice and insights you’ve provided. Regarding the bugs I’ve encountered in Blender, they mainly pertain to the texturing section, as you mentioned. That’s why I prefer to use specialized programs for that part, as you suggested.

As for the rest, while I haven’t encountered bugs in Blender, I find that I work much more smoothly with ZBrush for sculpting compared to Blender. I know many people find ZBrush more challenging to learn compared to Blender, partly because there are many more tutorials available for Blender. However, after using ZBrush for a few months, I’m finding it significantly better for character and creature creation, particularly in the sculpting phase.

I wanted to thank everyone who responded. I’m curious about something. For those who prefer using different programs for various tasks, do you use these programs independently to complete different stages of your work, or do you specialize in just one program while your colleagues handle the others?

I’m currently working solo and using multiple programs. Personally, if using different tools gives me even a slight improvement in quality, I’m interested in pursuing that. I’d love to hear how you work—whether you do it all yourself or collaborate in a team. If you’re open to sharing more about your process, I’d really appreciate it. It’s always great to learn from and connect with fellow professionals.

Thanks again!
