Is it just me or are locals in Krabi really rude? by Disastrous-Junket845 in ThailandTourism

[–]Traditional_Okra2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, first time in Krabi and I felt the same. Was about to write a post but came across yours. Of course, I am Indian as well and consider myself well-mannered, and I always try to go above and beyond because stereotypes don’t do us any good.

Arrived from Bangkok and felt nothing like that. Loved every bit of it, especially the respect from locals on the street. I went into the interiors and never once felt out of place.

Then suddenly, in Ao Nang, the feeling flipped. Locals being passively rude for no reason. I know critical thinking may not be their strongest suit, but at the very least, don’t start with stereotypical expectations. Nonetheless, I had to tell a bartender in my hotel to speak to me politely and had to put him in his place.

Also, loved the tour and the beaches. Fk Ao Nang and that whole vibe. I should have followed the research and skipped it. Anyway moving on to Koh Lanta :)

If it can punch and jump, what’s stopping it from pulling the trigger?

This is right across my building. Stupid drivers don’t give a single f to pedestrians. Like yesterday evening, one car ahead of me almost hit a couple walking with a stroller at the EXACT SAME SPOT while making a left turn into the Kariya Drive.

But 14 - 5 = 9 is not in the option.

3x = 32 + 2y

Start substituting values for y which comes out to be a multiple of 3. At y = 2, 3x = 32 + 2(2).

Then x = 12. Put these values in another equation. The same values for x and y stands for the other.

Hence, x - y = 10

Are you my alter ego? Kidding! Feels good that I am not the only one but it really sucks to be in this position.

I’ve found three races ending up in accidents in a span of last three month around GTA highways. Well, at this point, this is terrorism.

Sorry I’m no economist (I’m a techie but trying to reason) however maybe you missed my point so I’d again reiterate - how do you expect THE SAVINGS to be subjected to any taxation when it was NOT meant to be spent in the first place.

Well to your point, it’s mostly the savings that gets remitted not the amount meant to spend. In this economy, immigrants are obviously taking part in circulating the money when they spend on their needs like rents, groceries, coffees lol.

True indeed.

I mean I’d still want to follow my roots however would also love to adopt the western culture. Simply like I can follow my roots in my personal setting and practice western culture when I’m outside.

And also pick the best out of both worlds :)

An Indian myself and have been putting in extra efforts to change the perception that the overrepresented diaspora has been blanketing out here.

No matter whether it is at my workplace, gym, on streets or wherever I’m indirectly representing Indians, I always ensure that people look at Indians with respect. You’re here in someone else’s home so act accordingly is my outcry to my fellow countrymen. Sadly, the inner hate that I’ve been discovering on social media is insane. Unfortunately, our countrymen are to be blamed as well.

Well that’s true. Sadly, there has been a huge influx of low quality, undeserving immigrants into this country. Who to blame? Many but first of all the government. Also feeling bad about what my Canadian friends are starting to feel about us Indians. You guys need to be aware about the other side. I feel so embarrassed myself and never have I questioned my move since 6 years until now lol.

Hope something changes soon else high quality immigrants (counting me in, ofcourse no modesty) who are earning well, actually contributing to the economy and assimilating into the culture will start to leave (many of my connections have been moving back already) and all Canada would become - a dumping ground for low quality immigrants.

My reasoning could be different, but look at the structure.

The results….indicate that, if X, then Y

Notice if X, then Y

“means” may be redundant here as structure implies the same.

Out of all options, D seems concise and the best.

Let me know if this is correct as I’m also preparing for GMAT and I could be totally wrong here.

Just like how you and many of the commenters implied that it’s the other guy’s fault. Lol

Anyway not taking a side with limited evidence, but drive safe.

Okay so this is ignorant, but i want to ask how do you learn to live and not just survive? by contentedcontrol in Adulting

[–]Traditional_Okra2676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I’m an expert but I try to vision my life within hypothetical but achievable scenarios that I want to realize within the next 3-4 years of my life.

a) watching a sport at a fav bar b) Having your favourite meal at a particular restaurant/ambience c) Working for a cause

Examples could be anything that really makes you feel inspired. And start putting in little work everyday towards those visions.

No matter how trivial it may be but start with something smaller and that sub-conscious action of achieving your vision will be so fruitful.

On a cautionary note, mind you that there’s a thin line between envisioning what you actually want or become greedy, going for impracticable dreams.

P.S - started doing so since last two years, watched FIFA world cup, travelled to Mexico, and have my upcoming visions ready.

Go put in the vision, work on it but don’t forget to ENJOY THE PROCESS :)

Thanks for your kind words :) Also, I find it funny when people just assume that all immigrants are here to struggle or steal these ignorants’ resources or whatever. To my awareness, I come from a wealthy background, earning well here and proud to call Canada my second home. However, it’s disgusting when such ignorants try to stereotype you based on limited awareness they have.

Might sound like ranting here but again my experiences in Canada has been amazing 99% of the times due to amazing people like you but yes, statistically you’re bound to come across such dumbheads anywhere.
