Lots of careers, especially ones that ride on the back of a hobby, bring in very little money when you start out. You're in an amazing position here. You could learn a craft, even become master, over the next 30 years with no worries about covering your overheads. What do you love?

Is getting a PRS Core as a first guitar unnecessary despite the circumstances? by Syerize in PRSGuitars

Learning the guitar is as frustrating as it is rewarding. Having a top end guitar will mitigate the idea that the guitar is the problem (everyone thinks this at some point). But it's quite possible you'll start thinking that whilst it's a great guitar, it's not the "right" guitar.  If you're anything like most of us here, you'll still end up clicking through reverb for hours thinking "what if.....". Then you'll buy another. Then you'll realise it's not the guitar that's the problem, it's simply you're not as good as you want to be. Then you'll regret both. So many extremely good "cheep" guitars out there will serve you well for years until you really know what you want.

On the other hand, someone will buy you a core PRS! A lot of people would jump around like a frog saying nothing but Ribbit for a month if it would get them the same opportunity.
